If Ivory Coast win this match they're guaranteed to finish top, you then have to wonder if both France and Norway will want to win their last group game against each other as whoever tops their group would then play Germany instead of Ivory Coast in the next round, could see a few players rested in that match if it was a decider for first.

African countries have had European coaches for years and seldom get past the quarter finals.

European teams are benefiting from all the players with African origins, France have been the best international team of the last 30 years reaching 4 World Cup finals thanks to that, a lot of the 2018 World Cup winning squad were born outside the country.

It's because 40 years ago the Ivorian government insisted all languages address them as Côte d'Ivoire so they could maintain their national identity, and the BBC being politically correct, obliges. I thought it was just a trendy thing which is why I went along with it.
