^Starting XI's play for those clubs, gives you a better idea of team strength.
Looking at the quality of clubs/leagues the players are coming from, USA doesn't have that much of an edge, they have 2 players starting from mug leagues, Paraguay 2-3 players. Attacking players for USA coming from better clubs but even then it's not exactly vintage Juventus or Milan sides. Monaco/Strasbourg 7th and 8th in their league.
Paraguay beat Brazil and Argentina in qualifying at home and only narrowly lost to them 1-0 away, took 4 pts off of Uruguay as well.
Disadvantage for them is USA has home advantage but would not be surprised at a draw or even Paraguay win especially if America takes them lightly.

Backed Paraguay as well. Equal points with the Brazil, Columbia and Uruguay in qualifiers. Seem to have better form home but price seems big to me against a USA team that has mainly been playing friendlies.

You can see that USA are a good bit better than Canada or Mexico. They move the ball quicker and with better touch and more accuracy.

Exactly. Getting too up or down on any side after 1 game is unwise. This is a longass tourney, and it's a certainty that teams that looked good early, will disappoint later. While teams that looked bang average early, will raise their game when things get more serious.
