I was hoping they were going to say NEV. Cannot stand PEP, always looks like he is spitting worse than Carragher in a car.

City had more chance getting off with PEP. He would be telling the judge how he should conduct himself.

Too early for Kompany, it wont be him, still has a lot to prove at Bayern, i.e win the CL.

Maresca will be given the job.

They have faced these charges for years with absolutely no action taken.
What makes people think that anything will change?
BTW,I have a vested interest in them being relegated

‘Bout time he went after he started talking earlier in the year about palitime and jeanocide, I figured he should move on, one do gooder wanna be political commentator in Linekar was enough.

Let football be football without all the bs.

you can still lay Manchester city to be relegated at 200.0

if you're certain no action will be taken ....

What will City do if there is a water drought and need to water the pitch, Pep used to do that for them with all that spitting.

Pep leaving because, City about to be handed out a big points deduction for next season? Maresca far to short imo, Kompany a possibility though.

something very fishy about all this... starting to think they're going to get a points deduction that relegates them and for all the talk they are too big, remember juventus in italy a few years back. just cant see why guardiola is going now when he hasnt stopped going on about one year left on contract, unless its because relegation is coming and he doesnt want to manage in the championship. maresca coming in even adds to the idea thats whats on the cards, not only has he managed in the championship hes won it so ready made if they are demoted.

Yeah, thx for heads-up, I've just been reading up on it. I can't even find a market on it here.

When: 19 May 26 16:01
Another reason why it's strange and points to the points deduction imminent is why leave after failing to win the title, if that's how it transpires, especially when it looks like he has the makings of another good side in the offing and certainly worth another season, coupled with a few other sides in flux.

Pep has over worked himself and put footy over family.

I think the break will do him good,... Hope he's signed
up as a pundit for world Cup, he speaks well about football
and is very clever on tactics.

He said he hasn't decided if he's leaving "has to talk with the chairman"

If he stays, someone has some really bad sources out there reporting this.

I dunno about it being "strange". I reckon he was just about burnt out. 10 years is a remarkable stint in football management these days. He's won more than any City fan would be entitled to hope for, and nobody can say he hasn't made a huge success of it, despite all of the ffp shenanigans and the amount of money he's had to spend. Given that his team are no longer feared, and they struggle to beat teams they were wiping the floor with a few years ago, leaving now is a no-brainer, points deduction or no.

In a decade, he won only ONE Champions League and made only 2 finals.

This, with all the oil money at his disposal, and inheriting a PL-winning team to begin with.

I'm a lifelong United fan, over 50 years, but I'll argue Klopp is the better manager - He took a bang average Liverpool team, transformed it, and also won ONE Champions League, but mafe 3 finals - All on a far lower budget and net spend. And in less time (8.5 years)

Plus Klopps brand of football was way better in my humble opinion, I never took to Pep's painting by numbers style.

There you go.

The ONLY WON ONE CL argument is so strange.

Firstly, it has all the biggest teams in the world. It's not the Scottish Prem. Secondly it's a cup comp. One bad evening and it's goodnight.

I'll always back Klopp as the better manager but the desperation to paint Pep as a failure or underwhelming is a little dramatic. I don't think there's another manager in the last fifty years or so who has influenced the game as much as Pep has.

His domestic success even with the money at his disposal makes him a great coach but One CL is a massive under achievement with the team and resources he had...his teams lost a lot of ties they should have one...doesn't really tie in with the genius some would put to him..

in terms of it having the biggest teams - the last 10 years there's probably only 4 or 5 that could have won it bar a one off (which Inter nearly did to him btw)..it's a massive knock on his overall record..

If it's 'just a knock out comp', why has Pep won 8 Knock out comps in England in ten years? 5 League cups, 3 FA Cups?

It's because it's easier to win knock out comps domestically than it is in Europe, in stark contrast he's won 1 CL in 10 years because it's harder. Some baffling decisions in games along the way.

People who say 'anything can happen in KO comps' and 'one bad night and it's over', is just excuses.

This season they lost two single games, home and away, against a poor Real Madrid side, 1-2 and 0-3.
Last season they lost to an also average Real Madrid side, again losing home and away, 2-3 and 1-3.
3 years ago the lost to Real Madrid AGAIN, this time on pens, but drew both games, so couldn't win a single game in 90 minutes in 6 attempts against Madrid, that's not bad luck, that's not being good enough.
Final in 2021 against Chelsea, he decided to bench Rodri, no real holder in midfield, unless you think Gundogan is some replacement for that role.
Beat 1-5 v Liverpool on agg. 1-3 to Lyon and drawing on agg v Tottenham but losing on away goals, if you can't beat them over 2 legs you deserve to go out anyway.

Pep just hasn't been good enough in Europe, when people say KO comps are 'luck', no they're not, you don't go straight to pens, you play 2 games generally over 180 minutes in the knock out stages bar the final, and he came up short nearly every time.

Real Madrid won something like 4 CL in 6 years, they don't make excuses, they just win the biggest prize.

I am sure a few other managers who could of just went and bought the two he got in xmas window would have done as well.we will never know how good these managers are until they have next to no money to work with like a lot of their competition.

Though, via the club’s official statement, the Catalan “will continue his relationship with the City Football Group, by taking up a role as a Global Ambassador. The role will see him giving technical advice to the clubs in the group, working on specific projects and collaborations”.
