Commentating on Arsenal/Athletico semi final. Got to be the worst ever. An assault on the ear drums.Even subtitles would be painful

like Rooney, he's on telly because of his record as a player. Both very hard to listen to. Mind you, at least they were significant players, unlike Morrison and Richards and their ilk.

it would be better for my ears if he did just spew it out rather than shouting it out. i always feel like im getting a rollocking whenever he's the co commentator. Bring back Andy Gray !

on the train, volume control needs work, and he's not very good. Rooney is a great pundit but please not co commentary, don't do it Wayne. I do enjoy ally mccoist, but some others dont, he adds to the game, imo, and sees the comedy in stuff. |

I'm not that bothered who commentates or gives analysis anymore myself. I've become immune to the lack of humour and box ticking mediocrity. Slaven Bilic was prolly my fave from recent times.

I like listening to the Hawksby and Jacobs Talksport show. They show humour and are self deprecating, and have far more interesting content than the inane drivel on most of the other shows. The Tim Vickery South American segment I like. Alan Brazil and Coisty are fun when they are on.

Don’t think we need pundits, waste of sky sports or whatever channel subscription payments, as for shearer same as the rest, absolutely brilliant footballer though. Proper.

I like Hawksbee and Jacobs too. Jacobs doesn't have to do much apart from laughing, muttering and prompting, but Hawksbee has a great sense of humour. I think he used to write for Frank Skinner, and you can see the similarities.

Saint and Greaves, Brian Clough, Malcolm ALlison. Humour, banter = entertaining. The closest thing we've got currently is Keane and Richards, but it's a couple a level of laughs down on the afore mentioned.

ffs, Newcastle had only won one of their previous 15 games, five of Shearers 8 in charge were against teams in the top 8, the other three brought a win and two draws. At least know what you are talking about if you wish to converse. Hardly conclusive is it? Judging someone on an eight match managerial career. |
