VAR and the ref a couple of twunts. Ref two yellows same player and forgot to send the player off 2nd half and VAR gives the softest of penalties.

A meaningless game that's only served to confirm Tuchel's suspicion that with the exception of Kobbie Mainoo and Harry Maguire the likes of Foden, Madueke and Cole might as well go down to TUI tomorrow and book their fortnight's holiday in Ibiza this summer. If this is the standard of refereeing we can expect at the World Cup though, I suspect there'll be riots in the streets of Weymouth, Eastbourne and Horsham.

I thought it was the perfect opponent for WC prep myself.  They were decent opposition who didn't get the memo it was a friendly.  They spoilt, they were very defensive, they played dirty, (should've had 2 players sent off) and England largely dominated with their second string team, so imo it was a decent unspectacular performance too, aside from the final 2 minutes after the penalty.  That final 2 minutes of discombobulation is good experience too.

This was as close as they were going to get to the real thing.
