Why are Palace so poor in Europe?

This year's version of the Conference League is desperately poor and I have money on Palace to win it.

So do I, though I didn't watch. Looks like a good result to take to Selhurst park. Feeling confident here.

Absolutely they should qualify easily in the 2nd leg, but they played very poorly (again) in Europe.

Because they don't want to be in this comp, not used to traveling abroad to play, Thursday nights are a nightmare to play on with all the other fixtures, you get about £10m for winning this comp so bonuses must be minimal, they've sold their best players, the manager announced he was leaving a while ago and he seems intent on slagging off the hierarchy in every presser before he goes. They'd be better off financially finishing 4 places higher in the PL than winning this comp and the opposite will happen playing in it.

PL teams should refuse to play in this comp, just a recipe for losing money and getting injuries and a generally unhappy squad. This comp was supposed to be for the minnow countries, not clubs with 10+ times the revenues for winning it. Nothing good can come of it.

Completely agree with you Lurka, this competition has done us absolutely no favours whatsoever. I'm off to the Wolves game shortly and I'm expecting Glasner to get some stick from the crowd. Not by me I hasten to add.

I take your point lurka, but they played pretty much their first choice team most matches, with one obvious exception (been paying closer to full strength than Villa and Forest have) and this is an opportunity to win a trophy and get into Europe again.  They are out of the FA Cup too.

My inclination is it's tactical.  They are set up to play counter attack in the PL, but in this competition they are the best team in it, so they can't use that tactic.  I suspect both the players and the manager aren't suited to this approach.  It doesn't bode well for Glasner if he goes to a team that are expected to dominate.
