I don't usually get involved in individual matches, preferring to bet on the outcome of competitions. Hard to understand why Man City are 1.40 tonight, surely this is a gift worth taking?

I’ve got one.

At 9.45pm you’ll be saying how corrupt the game is after you’ve done your bowlarks again! VAR will undoubtedly screw you too.

City, Villa, Forest and Palace. How original.

81 potential outcomes for an 11/2 shot. There will be loads up and down the country trying it too.

Half of them will probably chuck Liverpool in too!

They used to put these accas on the exchange
so punters could lay them and in so doing
offer better prices to backers.

Sadly a thing of the past.

Well they are playing at home and they have paid more for players so they should really be winning.

With that logic I don’t see how you can lose. Go and collect now!!

Who do you fancy to win tonight?

Probably a few still adding celtic and rangers.

I don’t fancy anyone really. I usually want the underdog to win.

I haven’t done a footy acca where you predict the winner in at least ten years. You wouldn’t bet five or six horses in an acca at 1/2-Evens, so not worth it for the footy for me.

And the permutations just get bigger and bigger, YHTL.

As a young lads when you first went into the bookies you’d walk out with a ticket that paid a grand for a pound stake. All that needed to happen was for those ten or twelve teams to win. They never did!

Not many coupon accas require a phone call to get on.

Definitely not. They’d accommodate them all day. The more legs the better. In fact, any coupon they print out especially for the punter would be accommodated.

It’s fun to buy that little bit of hope.

Kenbo, I can remember doing a £1 e.w. ACCA on 13 short price horses one Easter Bank holiday, in 1980 aged 14. Obscure meetings like say Fakenham or Cartmel, you could only get the results the next day. So winner after winner, 1/4, 4/11 and so on kept coming in. The two results that I got the next day for the ACCA, I found one but as I didn't put a time on I couldn't find the last horse anywhere in The Sporting Life, much to my dismay.

Next time in the shop, Ladbrokes in West Norwood, the manager said well done son, here's your winnings. The missing horse was a non runner Laugh.

£187 quid as a youngster was a lovely pocket full of notes.

That’s a lovely touch for a 14 year old, Slippy. We all tried them but they rarely landed. Our most memorable bets aren’t always the biggest wins. I’d probably say our most memorable ones are the very near misses.

Plus, Strand Larsen is looking like a £50m bargain!
