Cloughie called out Leeds years ago for winnning things through cheating
he was right ...
Big Jack used to go up and stand on the goal line at corners and threaten the keeper
So sad to see the game go backwards

You are right but note, the same players wrestling at corners on Saturday dial down the spectacle in European Club competition on Tuesday, so I blame weak officiating in the U.K.

It needs referees to start giving penalties to the attacking team or defensive free kicks at nearly every corner, to perhaps cut it down. The problems being that it would spoil the game temporarily, and deciding who is the worst offender from the multiple wrestling going on It has been allowed to evolve from legal blocking off, by moving across the intended path of your opponent, to full blown grabbing shirts, arms The trouble is now is that the latter has become acceptable on a practical level but still illegal by the laws We know that referees tend to protect goalkeepers and err on the side of the defensive team...it's easier to get a bit of stick from an attacker, than give a penalty I completely disagree about it being ungentlemanly conduct to stand in front of goalkeepers...why should they get easy access to the incoming corner?

pushing and pulling is usually a foul and ungentlemany on any other part of the pitch
if the rule was only the keeper can be in the six yard box when the ball is kicked
There would be far better headers, volleys and shots from inside the penalty box and it would rid us of fouls on the keeper and maybe less scrambles on the goal line, lucky rebounds, players bundling the ball into the net and less deflections .

I agree with most of that irishone, apart from... Are you saying all players could come into the 6 yard box as soon as the ball is kicked? If so, with the hang time, they would all be in there by the time the ball arrived I also think very few fouls on the keeper go unpunished...in fact the opposite, they can jump sideways into opposing players who have quite legally jumped straight up, then fall awkwardly while screaming in pain, and be awarded a defensive free kick... It's a real annoyance to me
