One of Dougie Donnelly’s favourite preview lines of the week - “A somewhat senior Talbot fan saying that Celtic, coming to the town, is the biggest thing to happen in Auchinleck since The Who played the Community Centre in 1966”.   Laugh

I'm a Charlton fan and the biggest crowd we've had in 50 years was the Who concert at the Valley.

That was a "wish i was there" day as per a thread i started last year
The Who and guests - Charlton FC 31/05/76

Alan Curbishley was on Five Live this morning (Colin Murray show) they had a half hour feature on The Valley, the discussion ended with Curbs saying that The Who concert was the biggest crowd ever there, he was in attendance that day and had a freebie as his brother (Bill) had actually just taken over as manager of The Who !

Brilliant!  Glad I posted.  Brought back loads of memories.  Still play them full blast on occasion when sat driving.  Open the windows at stationary lights just to help educate the young ‘uns.  Laugh

Schmeichel on the bench.  Can’t believe MON is doing anything other than telling him to pick his form up which in recent times has been below par.

34 mins. and nil nil.  Celtic giving this lot some respect it seems.
I don’t know what the Auchinleck stadium is like but it can’t be very modern, or amenable.  The Celtic subs. must be right in there amongst, or at least adjacent to, the home fans.  Some comedown for some.

Celtic only winning due to an unfortunate deflection. It was a mean pinball. Plain

Surely all those Who fans in the Celtic end should be singing "I'm a bhoy, i'm a bhoy" Grin

The game was played in Kilmarnock, not Auchinleck, so that was Rugby Park you were watching The Auchinleck stadium was deemed to inadequate for this fixture.
