Is it just my irregular viewing or is it becoming a convention for a player to go down injured 22 minutes into the match, whereupon the other 21 players jog to their respective benches to partake of drinks and a manager team-talk?

Unless you get a var break it's essential, seemingly.

Hopefully ref remembers to add time on, unlike ref from manchester
refereeing Manchester team yesterday.

Been seeing it a lot. I know it is the norm in summer matches. Maybe spreading from that, maybe just imagination.

They are working on a plan to stop it.

Currently a goalie doesn't leave pitch after injury
treatment, so they go down, rather than outfield player.

Plan is that team will have to remove a player for
30 seconds after restart. Not much of a punishment

Simpler to freeze everybody else's position if goalie goes
down, book em if they come to touchline.

Thanks Donnie. Let us see what happens tonight at Stamford Bridge.

Why not have 4 quarters of 25 minutes to take into account two extra 5 minute breaks. The poor dears can't be expected to keep running around for 45 minutes nonstop without a drinks break.

!! Heaven forbid they stop the clock when the ball is not in play.

They'd still do it if goalie spots men out of position,
or opposition building momentum.

Bad enough if its scheduled for mid point of half

But sometimes happens more than once

Bit remiss not to have a nice digestive UB !

YHTL - are you suggesting that Kavanagh may be a teeny bit biased at times ? Wink

Kavanagh by enlarge had a very good game, bar leniency
to some naughty fouls, breaking up transitions, that impact on players
ability to do same again. He was lenient to both teams
but it's more of a city tactic.

Ref added on time in first half to allow corners to be taken.

1 minute stoppage time became 3 and a bit.

Murphy was subbed across the 45min, so I reckoned on
90 seconds added. 1 min after Barnes subbed on at 45.30 ish.
