Bet placed for £101.03 to win over £387

Over 1.5 double

First game was 0-1 after 63 minutes - odds 1.9 (Neuilly Sur Marne leading GFC Ajaccio 0-1, Ajaccio top, at home, 7 pts ahead of NSM)
Second game was 0-1 after 72 minutes - odds 2.0 (USSA Virtou v Challans, Challans leading game, ahead of Virtou by 7 pts and a Virtou a man down after 72 mins)

Cash out offer was £171.45 after the second goal was scored, so 1 goal needed left in both games with 20 mins left - I took the cash out.

They then voided the bet 3 hours later, by which time I had placed two further bets.

Their explanation was the cash out offer was an 'incorrect value' - this only after I had to contact them on twitter, no message or explanation from them at all otherwise. Their Virtual assistance is absolutely useless, their email equally so as they pinged back an AI response that clearly did not understand the query whatsoever.

After this first over 1.5 double bet, I placed another treble with the £171.45 for a second bet - that bet was cashed out £112.57 as it needed 1 more goal and didn't look like winning.

Then placed a third bet was for £112.57

Cashed out of that bet for £157.97 as again it looked like it was going to lose

Then they decided after the third bet, that the first bet was had an 'incorrect value' so the following two bets should not have been placed and so they deducted £171.45! So the winnings of £157.97 from the third bet had gone - along with another £13.48 - as they had deducted the winnings from the third bet (£157.97) plus taken the extra £13.48 to get back the winnings from the first bet (£171.45)

Even if the 'incorrect value' for the first cash out offer for the first bet was an 'incorrect value' , they know I cashed out, yet took the entire stake back instead of re-settling what 'they' thought I should have been actually offered.

Finally, after detailing the exact bet, the goal times, the stake/cash out offer, potential winnings, they then gave me back the £157.97 as a 'gesture of good will', no apology or acknowledgment of wrongdoing at all.

Anyone had this strange experience before and does it seem like they really offered an incorrect value as it doesn't to me.

I don’t fully understand your explanation, but if I’m reading it right, it’s roughly 3/1 for your bet to land. A £170 cash out for a £380 return wouldn’t happen. Maybe it would if a penalty was awarded and the cash out reflected that.

I think I may be wrongly assuming they were the in play prices, but looks like they were the prices at the time the bet was struck. Which would make my first post wrong.

Bet was in-play, close to half time.

Bet 1) Placed at 17:46:
- Stake: £101.03 - Potential winnings £387.9 - Cashed out for £171.45

Cashed out with 20+ minutes(inc. injury time), both games in this over 1.5 double needed 1 more goal each.

Bet 2) Placed at 19:02
-Cashed out for £112.57

Bet 3) Placed at 20:10
-Cashed out for £157.97

Can someone explain to me

A) Why or how could it take 2 hours and 24 minutes later to void the first bet, citing 'incorrect value'
B) How is that an incorrect value, it looks like a completely normal cash out offer with 20 minutes left.
C) Why did they delete/remove the cash out history from the bet? surely that's illegal practice.
D) Why would they not re-settle the first bet then at the 'correct value' - rather than take away the entire stake as if no cash out was made and as if I let the bet run and lose, which I didn't?

It seems like someone manually reversed my cash out on purpose and tried to waffle about how it wasn't the correct value and thought I was going to accept it, I don't see how that could have been a technical glitch, then again  it's chump change to them so just very odd.

Their twitter explanation was

Hi, we have reviewed this in full for you and bet HG8911271901F had been Cashed Out for £171.45 incorrectly as the value was incorrect. In line with our terms and conditions, where a Cash Out value is incorrectly taken, the funds are deducted accordingly. As you had then placed bet YG1413536041F with those winning funds, when the original Cash Out was deducted, this took you into a negative balance.

The then Cashed Out funds you had taken for YG1413536041F was used to clear this and reset your balance back to £0.00 as that bet should never have been able to be placed. We can appreciate this may be quite confusing, so let us know if you need this explaining any further.

Can you please explain to me in full, exactly why that bet had 'been cashed out incorrectly' what does that even mean? how can you cash out incorrectly? I was offered a certain amount and took it - in that bet you referenced, HG8911271901F, it was a double over 1.5 bet, both games had 1 goal each after 72 minutes, the stake was was £101.03 to win £383.9, the cash out offer was £70 above the stake, that seems fair to me - even if that was the incorrect cash out offered, I still cashed out, and still should receive the correct amount backdated to that bet rather than absolutely nothing

This would have been due to the Cash Out value being incorrectly offered. Please note, you hadn't done anything wrong in taking the offered value. However, once this had been found to be incorrect, it was then deducted in line with our terms.

Just scanning through this, it is obvious that they should just honour the original bet and the subsequent winnings
This is not a palpable error, imo
Also, would they have paid you out at the full odds if those matches had gone on to be over 1.5?

The 171 is not normal needing two goals but still cant understand they changing it as they would nt give your money back if you took cashout and your bet was already a winner

No way would they have paid out if overs came in.

Just simplify further to avoid confusion and give a clearer explanation

With a stake of £101.03, potential winnings of £387.9, and a cash out of £171.45 with 20 minutes to go in two separate matches, both needing 1 goal in each to win the bet.....

What do people think the 'correct' cash out 'value' should have been then? because according b365, they offered me the 'incorrect value' cash out offer?

Here are the 2 matches

https://www.sofascore.com/football/match/fc-challans-vertou/ZBoszjbb#id:14264897

Secondly, why in the world after declaring it was a 'incorrect value' cash out offer - 2 hours 24 minutes later - would then then zero the balance to nothing ? why would they not instead give the 'correct value' offer instead retrospectively? - they literally just deleted the initial cash out history of £171.45 and said you're getting nothing, we offered an incorrect amount and instead of given you the correct cash out offer, we're giving you nothing, not even the original stake back.

I would have expected the cash out to be closer to the original stake , and I would also have taken the 171 quid on offer
I would imagine that if they retrospectively calculated what it should have been they might have made it less than that
Anyhow, they clearly cannot keep your stake

Just about your stake back maybe couple quid more needing both games ,as for the rest you would have to go to tc to see what they allowed do.

The reason why £171 seemed acceptable and normal cash out offer to me was because Challans who were winning 0-1  after 72 minutes, were a man up, and were averaging 2 goals per game prior to the match (20 goals in 10 games).

The other match saw the odds against side leading, Ajaccio were behind when I cashed out after 72 minutes, they were top of the table and also nearly averaging 2 goals a game ahead of the 7th placed team. I'd have thought a stake back offer that point

The stronger team a man up and a goal up with 20 minutes to go in the first match
The stronger team a goal down with 20 minutes to go.

I'd have though the £171 was pretty fair.

But it's kinda by the by, how can that sort of mistake happen? it's all automatic isn't it, there's nobody sitting there decided what the cash out offer should be, they're fed the info and their mathematical model gives you your offer, but even if it was a 'technical error', to not retrospectively settle the bet at the 'correct' value or at least void the bet and give the stake back is unacceptable - especially as they made me do the leg work by messaging them on their unfit for purpose virtual assistance system, then their AI nonsense response via email and then tooing and frooing on twitter, before finally admitting without admitting they were wrong, by giving me the £157 on the final bet as a 'good will gesture.

Suppose I should be grateful as I imagine most bookies would probably not even reply to you, but wont be betting with them again anyway knowing this can happen with them, once bitten twice shy.

Was there a VAR decision pending at the time you cashed out?

No VAR - The games were both French match's, in National 3 Groupe B and E - which is level 5 - two rungs below Semi professional level, they don't have VAR.

I take nobody else has ever had this sort of issue, where a betting company tells you 2 and half hours later than they gave you the wrong cash out offer and took back not just the winnings, but took your stake as well leaving you with nothing out of it.

Their terms and conditions are loaded against punters. Bookies always quote their t&c whenever there's a dispute akin to a keyboard warrior hurling abuse at another counterpart here.

Which bookie offered a glitch in one of their online games software as a reason why the player was declared a mega jackpot winner, then had the jackpot win rescinded? The dispute went to court. The bookie lost.

Never encountered it in 25+ years on Betfair. Also I never bet more than 5% of my available bank on any one event so the subsequent issue of unavailable funds would not happen. I have encountered a total market being voided when betfair had mistakenly omitted to include a component of the market and only realised it after a lot of money had been matched.

Didn’t realise it was b365. Had this loads of times. 90% of the time I'm aware that a disallowed goal went in but the full or partial cash out was offered for ten seconds or so before they suspend. If they haven’t resettled it during play then it’s done hours later. If they haven’t resettled bet goes on to win anyway then nothing is done.
