I have no clue what you are saying Brass. I did turn Gemini but that didn't work so I turned it off again.
Apparently Siri, on the iphone works when in sleep mode, but GA simply doesn't. |

I'm on an android phone and from what I understand, GA is the only voice assistant on them. Have I got that wrong?
Off out for an hour, so apologies in advance for any feedback that isn't answered quickly |

I will add that I simply want to make phone calls just by asking, but when in Sleep mode I can't without logging in. If I'm logging in I might just as well dial.
It seems a pointless app otherwise. |

I've spent the last few hours on searches trying to find the answer, but nothing works. I've got a great set up here and this is the last piece of the jigsaw. If I can't get a solution then I guess I'm going have to indulge in an iPhone. Siri knows best it appears.

My daughter spent an age on it, but still no joy. On the plus side my sister has an old iPhone 11 she'll let me have. That should solve my dilemma (he says)

AI says
You can use Google Assistant on your lock screen by enabling it in the Assistant settings and ensuring "Assistant responses on lock screen" is turned on. For voice-activated access without saying "Hey Google," you may also need to enable "Lock screen personal results" and ensure "Voice Match" is set up and accessible on the lock screen. Enable Assistant on the lock screen Open the Google app, say "Hey Google, open Assistant settings," or go to Google Home app. Go to "All settings" and tap "Lock screen". Turn the "Assistant responses on lock screen" toggle on. You can also enable "Lock screen personal results" to get personal results when you activate the Assistant without saying "Hey Google" (e.g., by tapping the screen). If it still requires unlocking Voice Match: Ensure "Access with Voice Match" is enabled in the Google app's Voice Match settings. Battery Optimization: Check your battery settings to make sure the Google app is not being optimized, which can prevent it from responding when the screen is off. Trusted Devices: If you have a connected Bluetooth device, you can add it to your "Trusted devices" list in your phone's security settings to unlock the device automatically when it's connected. Restart the app: Try uninstalling and reinstalling and restart device. |

I've checked the battery situation and can't see any issues and no apps are displayed as having an effect. Can't find 'trusted devices' in the lock screen (as googled) either, but I have turned off my PIN. It doesn't make it work on sleep, but it is just a quick turn on to access the assistant, rather than having to keep entering a PIN.
