Have you noticed all u21 teams are away from home and they tend not to do well against the league teams.

All home fixtures to win is around 60/1- got to be worth an interest punt

It's a rule of the competition that epl u21 teams
play away from home in the qualifying league stage.

They were making up numbers, after conference teams
were excluded, and just 8 epl teams, originally, iirc, and they
were to play away from home. I don't think an official
reason was given, but it was good experience.

Teams were pretty weak in the main so they brought
in a rule that efl teams had to contain a certain
number of first steamers. 6 I think?

Not really followed it of late as academy sides seem
to have been weakened as they just got over powered.

It's a nice tournament, but too much tinkering.

Arsenal U21s set to be without Harriman-Annous, Dowman and Salmon for tonight’s game against Exeter in the EFL Trophy.

Could be playing against Brighton instead?

Louie Copley (midfielder) and Cam’ron Ismail (left-back) also trained with the first-team today.
