Given all the shirt pulling, holding,at corners.
Very hard to police, suss a foul.

Why not have a rule, only 6 players of each side allowed inside the box when taken.
This would also make giving a corner away not so much as a easy option.

Let’s do an amended hockey job.  Ball kicked back from right angle of six yard box and goal line, to VAR official on penalty spot.  Forwards race forward en masse from 22 yard line, defenders advance en masse from six yard line, and kick the living daylights out of said official.

How you deal with it is thus, you first make a rule that states that pulling, dragging, blocking, impeding is all allowed to everyone this would stop the sneaks getting away with it and allow everyone a crack at it, then though, once all the teams have experienced the farce and general horribleness of that scenario it would result in clubs begging for the rule outlawing it to be brought back in punishing such actions, you then bring it back in and threaten the clubs that once it gets out of hand again you'll throw it out again Happy

It is allowed...

A minor shirt pull

A small pull

They are holding each other.

I do like honchos idea best, as counting to six could be
beyond most refs.

There’s too many players in the box, arsenal charging around en masse,
Football is football, not NFL set play corners.
All 22 are allowed in box for a corner, that’s not great really.

Cricket have power play, within a smaller field.

Games evolve.fifa change rules every year.

Why not to stop, overloading at corners.

The luddites will pile in now,and say.youll be wanting free kicks for attackers being in front of defenders to stop them goal hanging.

And I suppose different players should be encluded for different rules, this that are actively evolved and those that aren’t actively evolved.

How about, each and every hand ball in the box is a pelanty or free kick.Any shirt pulling however big or small is a pelanty or free kick?

No need for any debate, decision is simple.

Is a handball, where the balls varnish slightly clips the end of the finger nail, and after the var referee has consulted with NASA for a better angle, hes then proud as punch to show us how clever he is,cos contact was made, when picture was blown up by NASA s strongest telescope.

It’s like stewards enquires, someone’s got to decide, did the infraction cost them an advantage,it’s all balance of probability ,

Should be on field ref,he checks a monitor ,confirms what he believes happened,or realised he’s made a mistake, issues new decision.on offsides,if he looks about level with the eye,he’s on side, the same as a linesman has done for years,

No pixels
No finger nails
No brushing the ball, then breaking a players leg.

Remember that when given the chance 19 out of 20 Turkey's decided to vote for Christmas, conequently only Wolves have the right to be able to complain about VAR decisions post match.

Could we end up like Ireland and FIFA,suing them for the French goal costing a them a place in the World Cup.

hand ball is crazy and subjective still even with var, jersey pulling at set pieces if var was implemented correctly and perhaps referees visiting clubs an telling management and players, DO NOT DO THIS OR WE WILL GIVE A PENALTY OR DISALLOW A GOAL, no dispute, looks easy to myself

In my day the operative word was , “ intentional “ and it seemed to work.  If you handle the ball intentionally, its a foul . If it hits you ,it isnt.

Grabbing or pulling a shirt is intentional. All this nonsense about , “oh he didnt use enough force “,is irrelevant. Who can define what “ enough Force “ , is. ?

Its important to recognise that its not just defenders committing fouls at corners. Most teams put a player on the opponents keeper who does nothing but obstruct the custodian from getting to the ball. Thats a free kick straight off the bat.

I do wonder if they have this debate in the rest of the world.
It seems to me that in english football the argument is dominated by the loudest most moronic voices.
Often disgruntled home supporters who call for a penalty for every innocuous contact and fifteen minutes of injury time just because their team isnt winning.

I remember when numpty pundits would use the argument.. 'if thats a foul in the middle of the park then it should be a penalty in the box'.
Completely ignoring the nuance of the game, which is what has made it the world's biggest sport.

Actually, after witnessing the ridiculous penalty awarded against Van Dijk the other day it seems to me you are more likely to get a penalty given against you than a free kick from open play, in the current model of english football.

It is dire I agree.  Surely, and soon please, someone will bite the bullet and rebel against the current mishandling of the officiating at corners.

We played at school with no offside.

People didn't bother to take advantage, then
we'd stick 2 men on goalie and punt it long.

You could only benefit at our skill level by
being able to kick it further than them and
having decent pacey forwards who would pass to each other
to work it past keeper.
