I think there has been a couple of games so far that have been exciting games, but in the main this season, 98% of games have been dreadful and boring!!
The football is less flowing then ever. It is so rigid, boring and regimented. Basically u wouldn't be paying £100 all in for a day out at the football, when you could watch the same quality of dinosaur football of set pieces, long throws and ball constantly in the air down your local park in sunday league. At least your more likely to see errors leading to goals being scored then what is now a reluctant game of risk and trying to nick a goal by a set piece.
This is quite possibly the worse premier league Ive seen to date, it is so poor
Oh, I see the word "t!ts" is banned here (my previous post was censored). Yes, I agree that it's been a poor season so far. It all went t!ts up after Pep arrived at City.

Back 15 years ago, the 0-0 was entertaining when teams use to battle hard agst each other.
The brand In the premiership has died now.
More games to watch, but they’re just built on set pieces, long throws, rigid formations, barely a tackle of note made, swarms of pressing to win set pieces. Less goals, less open play goals, less atmosphere in stadiums
Brand is dying. However non league games and local games attendance is on the rise!
So far this season is fizzling out as a spectacle
The beautiful game is dying.

been in the ground what's killing championship/EPL for me is the ridiculous time it takes to take restarts throw ins, corners ,dangerous free kicks, its like the game is actually stopping for natural breaks, at boro, stoke in 2nd half stoke we're absolutely battering us and instead of getting corners, free kicks, throw ins back in to play as quick as possible, they were taking an absolute age,gu=iven chance for BORO to regroup every time anyone got any stats for amount of time ball is in play during the 90 mins, compared to previous seasons ?

Liverpool v Man U. I should be on the edge of my seat, heart pounding, necking beers by the minute. But I had my phone in my hand by the 20th minute. We've reached a stage of peak tactics and fitness where it's like a game of chess of teams having to bypass a congested area so lots of sideways passing and waiting for someone to make a mistake. Maybe Pep going to a more route-one style might bring about a change to a more fun game in a couple of years, but right now I've little interest in watching the reds, never mind MOTD or other live games.
Very dull. But then I'd say last season was too.Liverpool v Man U. I should be on the edge of my seat, heart pounding, necking beers by the minute. But I had my phone in my hand by the 20th minute. We've reached a stage of peak tactics and fitness wh
The problem is that alongside a rise in tactics we have a rise in referees allowing holding, shirt pulling and rough housing.
Plus of course var in all of it's glory looking to remove goals.
Var says the shirt pull was not enough to give a pelanty.
Defenders are now skilled in the art of gentle shirt pulls
Ffs.

So much in this thread accurate for me. The MOTD at least edits out all ( or most of ) the trivia but far, far too much time spent on analysis. It also irritates me greatly that commentators don’t give us the names of players who have been instrumental in a move, or interception, or crucial contribution. We can see the pictures so why describe what is happening? Tell us whodunnit! It’s not always easy to I.d.

Spot on loyalhoncho, me dad struggles to see which player has been involved in midfield, sadly quite often these days.
Watching game with him, we can fill in some detail.
Even more annoying when they don't give you the info on the radio, assuming you are watching on TV whilst they chat about their hotel.
Crowd noise tells you something is happening.
We shall now go off to the racing at newbury as they enter the final furlong
Ffs
