I mean a top club competing for top trophies in England or Europe, United have been in the doldrums for years

He's a good keeper but maybe it's his height, most top clubs have big keepers over 6ft4, Courtois at Madrid, Szczesny at Barca, Donnarumma at City, Alisson at Liverpool, Vanja Milinković-Savić at Napoli, Sanchez at Chelsea, Neuer at Bayern.

Exceptions like Raya and Sommer at Inter, but maybe they compensate for being good with their feet, thought Sommer I think was recently displaced or sharing duties with Martinez, 6ft3.

Kind Regards.

Jordan Pickford is a top goalkeeper and getting better with age. England and Everton are lucky to have him.

It's pretty certain that the toffees would have been relegated in either 21/22 or 22/23 without some stellar performances from him.

He's on strictly now!

He also scored that season, a header.

Pickford really has settled down, matured, lost the absolute hate,
and enjoys the banter. Error count nearly gone.

Still chite at crosses, hey ho, nobody is perfect.

I've got him down for 77. (wouldn't bet on exact amount)

He got sent off, iirc, so not all of Leeds goals were his.

It was 03/04, year Arsenal won the title unbeaten
Robinson never conceded anywhere near 100 goals in any league season in the prem
Leeds conceded 79 prem goal that season
Robinson played 36 of the 38 games.
Missed the away game to Man United through suspension, drew 1-1. Missed last game of season to Chelsea, lost 1-0
Scott Carson replaced him who's only just been released by Man City
So technically it was 77
Think he missed that last game as he was off to Tottenham so they let the young keeper play
That was also Ranieri's last game as manager of Chelsea, who laid the foundations for Jose to succeed, the same way Nigel Pearson laid the foundations for Ranieri at Leicester.

He was a good keeper generally.

Kind Regards.

No Premier League goalkeeper has made more saves from big chances (4) this season than Jordan Pickford against Manchester City.

No need for a new thread.  Earning his, and his team mates’ corn again.

Yes Honcho, another solid display from England's Number One, but the Toffees were much the better team today, three goals chalked off for offside as well.

Dare i say it, but another fine display at the back from Michael Keane and another goal to boot. He is having a very good season.

If you say so.  We’ll HAVE to agree to differ.

Ask any observer this season Honcho, they will agree.

15pts for Keane in fantasy football
8 for pickford

Keane only has 3 defensive contributions today
Tarkowski 7, suggests Everton midfield was good too.

If it wasn't for Pickford over the last few years Everton would be in the Championship.

Agreed.  Time and time again he is left undefended.  Keane is not Everton class, it is as simple as that.  He’s Championship class.

He has been Evertons best defender so far this season.

Honcho, i said on the other Everton thread (in response to your claim that the team had had a shaky defence in recent years) that in actual fact the toffees had the FOURTH BEST DEFENCE in the EPL in each of  the last two seasons. There was no further comment from you and i presumed therefore that you accepted your claim was false.

Pickford was indeed priceless in the two seasons PRIOR to that where he was instrumental in keeping the club up. But in the last two years the defence has been great as a unit.

So in the last TWO years Pickford hasn’t influenced those stats.  Laugh. We’ll need to leave it there.

Honcho. you are misconstruing my comments. Of course he had an influence in the past 2 years as PART of a very tight defence.

In the previous two campaigns he put in a series of very fine performances which were worth a number of points to the team on their own.
However in 23/24 and 24/25 that was not the case, the defence shone overall.
