Report SlippyBlue October 18, 2025 9:06 PM BST
It was a quite exhilarating match @ Selhurst Park today and that's putting it mildly.

Bournemouth were different gravy to us and completely dominated in the first half but following the break we hit our stride and got back to 2-2. A late Bournemouth goal looked like that was that but we managed to make it 3-3 courtesy of a Mateta penalty and that secured his hat trick. Then, in the very last few seconds  of the 8 minutes extra time Mateta had a chance that surely should have been the winner with just the keeper to beat and the goal at his mercy but he fluffed his lines and blazed it over.

It was highly entertaining game and with a superb atmosphere all afternoon.
A lot of fun indeed.

City are the biggest one man team I think I've ever seen, Haaland can't carry them to the title on his own, when they won the league before goals were spread around a bit more, Foden had 19 goals as their second top scorer. So far this season Haaland's  on 11 league goals, then all the way down to Foden on 1 league goal, can't see him or anyone else getting anywhere near 20 again, Reindeers looked good first game of the season v Wolves, looked average since.

I think Arsenal will win the title, absolutely nothing special and have their flaws, Eze isn't fitting in and consequently with Odegaard out, (who doesn't do enough himself) they don't create many chances in open play but they are the most solid and will make fewest mistakes. IMO.

Realistically, Ars*nal should be favourites to clinch the title this season. On paper, they have the squad depth, tactical cohesion, and momentum to go all the way. Yet history has shown their alarming tendency to falter under pressure—when the stakes rise, their composure often vanishes. If they fail to secure the championship this time it’ll be a damning indictment of a project that’s swallowed over a billion pounds in recent years. The margin for error is gone; anything less than silverware would render this ambitious rebuild a spectacular failure.

A dummies guide to this week.

Everton without Grealish are a dead duck, so Moyes will probably park 2 or 3 busses in front of goal but still lose but maybe not a hammering.

Correct

This could be Ange's last game, if he's got an ounce of common sense he will shut up shop just to get a point on the board, if he does I can see it being a draw, if he doesn't then Chelsea will win and both teams will score.

Most right, Ange's last game, didn't shut up shop, Chelsea won, but Forest didn't score

Palace v Bournemouth screams draw, maybe 1-1, everyone's fantasy football lovechild, Semenyo, will perform well again

Correct result, score wrong.

I think Burnley can beat Leeds, maybe 1-0 or 2-0.

Correct

Sunderland to edge Wolves, maybe 2-1, if not 2-2, looks a tight game but feels like goals.

Result right, scoreline wrong.

Brighton v Newcastle another close game, maybe 1-1.

Close but no cigar, 2-1

Fulham v Arsenal, we've got just 1pt from 6 in the last 2 games at Craven Cottage, got a couple of ex-Arsenal players in their ranks who will wanna prove a point, feels like Arsenal will edge it this time though, maybe 0-1 or 0-2.

Correct

Tottenham v Villa, Tel is ineligible for Champions League so will probably start over Richarlison, Tel looked very good against Leeds, Villa however have just started to click after a horrific start, won their last 4 in all comps. Watkins will probably v fit, think Villa will frustrate the spuds, maybe 1-1 or 2-2.

Close but no cigar

Perfect time for Liverpool to play United, perfect time for United to play LiverpoolLaugh whilst Amorim continues with his daft system and with Slot having had 2 weeks to make sense and take stock of their strange start to the season performance wise, I'd take Liverpool, probably 2-0.

Very wrong

Nuno will outcoach the set piece coach, think West Ham will begin their upward trajectory under him starting here, 1-0.

As wrong as it could possibly be, most one sided 0-2 ever. Shocking performance, did not see that coming. Bretford's Rugby style tactics will cause Liverpool huge problems next week, same as Man United' bus parking and long balls did.

Kind Regards.
