VAR, is a license to cheat, the beautiful game is dead and buried.

I agree the initial aim of VAR was for pens and key foals etc…now if your thumb is offside then goal is disallowed…..it’s bollox and ruining the game

Rob Jones is the useless on field ref who didn't have the balls to stand by his original decision to award the goal.
Michael Salisbury is apparently the idiot in the VAR booth (according to the EPL website) who told the ref to have a look. |

In its early form VAR seemed an innocent way to create fairness,

“It is quickly”? Nothing quick about VAR, in any sense. Been around in England since 19/20 and was a waste of time almost from day one. When will we see the first 110 minute match? Can’t be far off.
It is a farce and someone up there must be benefitting from it somehow otherwise it would have been dumped by now. |

As Duffy alluded to earlier, every team recently had the chance to dump VAR from the EPL, every team bar Wolves voted to keep it. Very silly.

maybe fans should protest instead of greedily snapping up tickets. The clubs want VAR as per the last recent vote where 19 of the 20 PL clubs voted in favour of it. Hitting them in their pockets would soon sort it out

A national agreement across all fanbases to boycott one set of fixtures, set it up for a couple of months time and let the narrative build momentum all the way up to the boycott....it would be a massive story and one similar to when fans across the board banded together against the Super league that displayed real power.

Modern football is no longer a sport but an entertainment business. VAR is a tool to create this entertainment.
I remember when football was basically one match on tv at the weekend and media analysis was at max a 1 hour show on a few channels. Now its social media morons pouring out dog5hit content 24/7 and paralysis by drivel analysis by morons like Neville and Keane Call me an old fogey but I'd happily have those days again where you had a magazine show like Gazetta Football Italia or Revista de la liga and at max 2 matches at the weekend. |

The customer btw for this business is not the English football fan, its the tourist fans who are spending big money from China, Japan, US etc...
More Media income is now derived from foreign TV media than domestic for the first time and that will only get bigger. |

Far too much "analysis" before, during and after games.
Most of it pointless drivel. And far too many games on TV every week - but it's all about money. As for VAR, the basic idea of VAR is good but the various ways it's being implemented is awful. Wouldn't take much to come up with a proper structure for it but the powers that be seem unable to do it! It's so inconsistent nobody seems to know what the original guidelines were. |

I would give the team manager two challenges like in cricket.
That would answer two problems,. The flow of the game and sanctimonious managers and fans blaming the ref all the time. |
