The commentary on from the tv.
I reckon it does,does anyone know.
A few issues with this.
Not every game is on tv,so it’s not equal across games.
When you get over excited pundits,calling decisions early,or blatant,it’s only their view,it dosent mean they are right.some playing up for tv excitement,Neville main culprit.
When a pundit says,that’s a terrible tackle,he’s in danger here,clear sending off.
It must influence VAR officials.
Too scared to give a measured view,wanting to keep their cushy number,will just go with the flow,frightened of being called out by pundit,so they take the easy decision and just do whatever the loudest pundit is screaming for a quiet life.
Surely they should have no outside influence affecting their decision,but pundits are clearly doing this.
They may as well do away with the VAR ref,and just let the pundit call it.
Then on top of this,we are getting micro fouls,decisions,that no one really notices and has minimal impact on their decision play,being spotted and red cards,penalties,disallowed goals,over the tiniest of error,technically correct decisions,but 51% calls being given,espically if the pundit is screaming that’s a red card.
It was meant to stop big obvious blatant errors.
It’s now become ,deep analitical forensic investigations,which then go out the window when the pundit is demanding they agree with him.
Let the ref,check the video if their might be a error,don’t need a 2nd ref who isn’t,cos the pundit tells him what to do.

The ref waves players and managers away on the pitch,whilst the main important VAR ref must surely be influenced by the pundit. If the VAR ref thinks differently from the pundit,he’s under massive pressure,knowing,the pundit,then the studio will say he’s got it wrong,then the press will follow suit next day. Then he ll be stepped down ,next week. He ain’t going to risk his job,so will just go along with the pundit, Neville has called loads of decisions instantly,full 100. % decided,even before replay.he also over compensates against United to make himself seem unbiased, The decisions are so close,it’s a 51% calls being given.but that dosent make for good tv.so they Matt chapman it and scream certainty. it’s like the baying mob,demanding justice. Why do they need commentary.they should be free from influence. |

I think Chris Sutton changed his mind tonight even after seeing the replay, he was then influenced by VAR having a look.
Agree, the ref should just be told to have a look. He's paid to be the ref. |

Chris Sutton a bit more measured,but we are at the mercy of that days pundit,looking at the same pictures,
So confirmation bias,pressure,etc etc feeding into the decision. Let’s face it. All the premier league want is no fuss. So pundit screams good gol,VAR ref just nods along in agreement,everyone’s happy,no dispute. They don’t care if it’s the right decision,they want the decision of least hassle. Why does the pundit get to tell the VAR ref his full verdict on the decision,yet a manager is dismissed if he tries to say,that was a foul. Pundits offering opinions after is fine,but if they’ve got the commentary on,they are clearly influencing decision,either consciously or sub consciously. It’s human nature |

Pundit ,ooh nasty challenge,that’s a red, Replay,ooh yes shocking,clearly studs up. Slow mo,outrageous,he has to go. By now the VAR ref is already up against it,if he thinks differently. |

So it was a close call.
But pressured applied on 2nd and 3rd replay. If a guy is saying out loud to a million viewers,it’s a red it’s a red. What is little old VAR guy going to do. Chris Sutton,that 51% v 49. % red card is now a 100% red card. The VAR ref,thought,maybe,that’s a 51% v 49% yellow card. But a million people now think I’m wrong,I don’t want to be dropped of the rosta,I ll just agree with Chris Sutton,why rock the boat. |

Disagree,if your going to have video refs,then may as well get the right result.
But with the Gordon sending off. A player can lunge at another and take him out,was contact made ,yellow or red. But what happens ,when a player slightly catches another,a reckless challenge in theory,but then a minor touch in reality,would be missed by most refs in real time. It’s a red card,dangerous play,but what happens why a player launches himself,reckless,but then try’s to back out,alter his challenge,but then gently grazes him. The World Cup seemed to get it right,dismissed a lot of stuff away. But cos of sky,30 cameras,pundits,studio anaylisis.every detail is analysed. It’s too precise,to accurate, A penalty was given last year cos the ball slightly brushed a players finger nail.the direction of the ball didn’t alter,but they gave hand ball. Because everyone’s looking,did he touch it. Clear and obvious errors.have been swapped for let’s analyse this pixel by pixel,to see if we can spot something. |

Why wasny Konates blatant push in the back looked at? was it because,if so,they would have to give him a second yellow.I agree,i have said from the start of this VAR shambles,those in the van can be easily influenced by the supposedly unbiased commentators.
