I'd love to see him shake off the pepball chite
and get back to the wonderful player he was at
Villa.

Good luck to him.

Not like he is Maradona going to Napoli (I wish!) but hope he applies himself twice a week, stays injury free, and gets the service he deserves.

29 is a dangerous age. Wasn't Joe Cole that when we got his transfer to Liverpool?

Anyone found decent h2h season betting for Everton v Man U?

Best I found was 365's 10/3 which is a bit skinny.

I would have thought 10/3 a decent price; granted more chance of Manchester United transforming from an ugly duckling to a swan but I have noticed high-expectations turn to free-fall when safety is reached and United always shoulder higher expectations, pre-season.

I was hoping for around 9/2
By:

Then Man Utd would have to be priced at prohibitive odds c 1/8 -

United fans would prefer to back their team against Chelsea at odds against, I imagine. Everyone hopeful pre-season.

As a high functioning CITY fan
I'm gutted he's gone
I don't think he got a fair chance off Pep
And he is a quality footballer
Good luck Super Jack

Sofa - Dean Sullivan who played Jimmy passed away in November 2023 aged 68. Had been diagnosed with prostate cancer a few years earlier.

Jimmy was most peoples favourite character from Brookside i think although i did like the nasty gangster with the speech impediment s-s-s-Sizzler

Could be a great bit of business Mr S, at least if he brings anything like his A game.

Has every incentive to do well of course with the World Cup on the horizon.

Defence looks solid and midfield looking ok, just need a proper out and out goal scorer now !

Too expensive i think Dragon. Rashford and Grealish on similar wages, as i understand it Barca are paying all of Rashfords whereas EFC only paying part of Jack's.

Dibling does look promising Mr S but not sure he's worth the kind of cash they are demanding.

ah ok dixie, lets see what happens to him at barca,, might get him cheap if it doesnt workout for him

Not a great fan of Rashford.

Very few English players of outstanding promise have the brain to realise full potential. Their heads get turned.

I think Pep was trying to tell Jack before he gave up on him. “Cop yourself on. I know what a world class player looks like: I coached Messi. “ Who never quite secured his place in history until he won the World Cup.  So many English players think their the dog’s b***ocks at 20 and never get any better.  But Moyes/Grealish: I can see that working.

Lots of players arrive,.. And don't improve

Quite interesting to see cricketers get better skills
and footballers just get faster and stronger

When was last time you remarked on a striker hitting the
ball harder this season, or developing new tricks to
beat a player...

I've seen J.G. up close a good few times and I honest thought he was mediocre at best.

3 Premier League winners medals, 1 FA Cup winners medal, 1 Champions League medal, 39 England caps.

If only Everton had more "mediocre" players like that in the squad.......
By:

question is what did he contribute to that lot dixie?
By:

When: 12 Aug 25 19:55
when i think of Grealish, i imagine him getting the ball to his feet (never running on to the ball ) on the left wing, and then playing a 5 yard pass backwards. its rare to see him beat the full back and put a good cross in.
By:
DixieDean60
When: 12 Aug 25 20:07
Quite a bit Dragon,

Premier League winning seasons - 74 appearances ( 11 goals)
FA Cup win - 5 appearances including the final
Champions League win - 13 appearances including the final
By:

By:

I’m talking about the handful of players who contend to be the best of all time. In the lifetime of Maradona, Messi was in his shadow. Messi laid it to rest in ‘22.

Just fell out of favour with Pep Dragon, these things happen. City had a poor year last year by their standards and yet Jack didn't play much, very weird.

Thing is that perspective is needed here, EFC have been criticised (quite rightly) for paying over the odds for unproven players in the past that turned out to be duds.

So its a relief to finally see them rein that in. They have just signed a talented player on loan with loads of experience and winners medals in the cabinet.
Yes they have to pay a chunk of his wages, but no transfer fee. What's not to like ? If it doesn't work out then so be it.

Having seen some of the obscene amounts of money being chucked around by other clubs for various Carlos Kickaball's that most of us have never heard of, i am fairly happy with the new blood that the club has brought in.

Aston Villa Grealish was one of the best players in EPL.

Maybe he had some refuelling issues, but if he
overcomes them then he's a great signing, and probably
still a good one, with refuelling issues.
