low balling at 110 mil isn't even worth Newcastle responding, but he does have to be sold, if not, Newcastle will not get the same Isak back, they'll be carrying him this season as he's heads gone, then his valuation will drop, and it's lose lose, 140 mil should be bare minimum, but Liverpool always like to get their business done early so 2 weeks away from the start of the season and you wonder if they might actually drop out and try and get him cheaper next season. Newcastle also need to quicky sell to replace him, they've already let Wilson go and have played with make shift strikers in pre season in Elanga and Gordon. Hard to see them finishing top 6 as it is. The fans will also be within their rights to boo him upon return given the fact that he has basically gone on strike. Kind Regards.

Surely Liverpool would not have bought this Ekitike bloke if the Isak thing hasd blown up a few weeks back would they and if so you have to ask, have they spent the best part of 80 odd million on a player they don't really want and how does that player feel now.

If this happened earlier Isak would now be a Liverpool player and Ekitike a Newcastle player, if it wouldn't look so ridiculous I bet Liverpool and Newcastle for that matter would both be happy to swap the pair round and Liverpool to add money to the deal.

No discount next season, and Spain clubs come into play then Can easily play Isak left, Salah right with Ekitiké floating false 9/10, would be quite tasty I'd think. Got wide full backs allowing isak/Salah to play more inside |

If Isak scores just 10 league goals next season and doesn't look the same player, he's not going to be valued over 100 mil anymore, which could happen given how much he wants to leave
from what I've read about Ekitike he is more like a Firmino link up sort of striker, so Isak could play off of him, but then that leaves Gakpo on the bench, Slot seems to like him. |

Finding a way for them to play is not the same as saying that's what they would have done if things had played t differently.
I maintain that if Liverpool had bought Isak earlier they would not have bought Ekitike, the whole thinking was that Newcastle were expected to get Ekitike to replace Isak, what's happened here is that Liverpool jumped too soon and have consequently turned it into a mess. Liverpool jumping too soon frightened Isak and that's when he started shouting, before that he kept quiet not wanting to alienate himself to the fans. |

Same with sesko Man utd waiting for a bargain as Liverpool were with Ekitiké but solid interest from newcastle forced hand. |

Haven't seen a lot of Etikite but his scouting report suggests he could easily play from wide in a front 3 or as a 10 even..
Isak gets the odd injury so they would still have needed a credible second choice central striker...Nunez likely off before the window shuts and probably not the required quality tbh.. |

Quite, the least Newcastle can do is milk Liverpool for all they can, if this was United and not Liverpool the rest of the footballing world would be saying that Newcastle are mugging United off with the price, he's a proven goalscorer alright but he's also a bit of a crock.
Who Newcasle are going to start up front though is anybody's guess, Leipzig will now be hoping that they can sway Sesko away from United because they in turn will be able to milk Newcastle on price for him because the toon are now going to be the embodiment of "desperate" |

What the Newcastle owners are learning from all this is that it is nigh on pointless purchasing anything other than a legacy club because your wealth isn't going to be allowed to be used as they'd want it to be.

and trading players for profit. Of course they have 4 clubs in Saudi which can spend whatever they want. |

Just a lot more challenging and takes a while but Newcastle have a big enough footprint to get there sooner rather than later..
Large catchment area and revenue streams around the world will be growing rapidly with 2 out of 3 seasons in CL and 4th and 5th PL finishes in the last 3 seasons.. need a new ground (or increased capacity @ St.James Park) to generate more matchday revenue and bigger events revenues as well...but sponsorship values will be increasingly healthy and merch sales off the chart growth.. |

Newcastle won't get there because the pressure on them to maintain performance on the field will be too great, the moment they have an outlier of a player he will be taken from them, they need to be able to progress on the field with players that no-one else wants and they are therefore left alone, an impossible job.
United couldn't be in a worse position with all and sundry hailing that they are finished and yet with no European football they are still able to beat Newcastle to two players that they want and there is a little kidding themselves going on thinking it's all about money, it's not, it's the legacy of the club that attracts these players and hoping that you're on board when it starts to improve, they want to be United players. Newcastle are always going to face the same problem, year on year IMO. |

uniteds prob is that they are a club in decline. i hardly think the two recent signings signal a way forward for the club.
they have no champions league football, have indolent owners, a stadium that is a relic of the past and a manager that remains unproven. newcastle are a club on the up, they have champions league football, a proven manager, owners that are prepared to invest- not sure on the stadium position. both have great supporters but i reckon a reliance on a clubs name is the way to the poor house |

Yes, it's definitely unfair, the whole PSR ethos based on spending in line through natural growth sounds noble but we also know that football is rotten to the core.
It is 100% designed to protect the existing order of things and to stop any old club being picked up by a mega rich owner and turning things upside down. |

Will be plenty of revisions to PSR in time, it's counter intuitive to a money driven league to stifle wealthy owners from investing more in the product..with the seemingly increasing gap between PL and Championship even more wealthy owners will buy in to what are currently middling teams by PL standards..

United are not a club in decline, they have struggled in recent times in this part of their history, that's it!!!!
We're just talking about PSR, the whole system is designed to protect the heirarchy and United remain at the pinnacle of that, the Glazers are repugnant, but will be gone one day and all that United are through their history will remain and be in place for them to come back again. It's a cycle and for the most part, the legacy clubs will take turns at being good, remember Liverpool waiting 26 years between titles and the comedy show of Gillette and Hicks....the club didn't die though despite, I be,t millions of people posting on message boards like this one that Liverpool were in decline. |
