Basically said he's downed tools the last few weeks, been sub par in training, course he has, he knew he was announcing he was about to leave and was apprehensive about the reaction, no need for Slot to give off a different impression as if he was trying to save himself for Madrid trying not to get injured.
What a way to rev up the Liverpool fans for his last ever game at Anfield, not the smartest of moves, best hope it doesn't turn really nasty now.

Coming out before the very last home game of the season and even mentioning that he wasn't happy with him in training, regardless of when it was, is Slot stirring up the Liverpool fans, why would he even bring this up now, if he plays him on the weekend, he's probably get even more abuse now, that's on him. Heard it reported it was last few weeks but even if it was start of the season that makes it even worse. Kind Regards.

Speaking at his pre-match news conference on Friday, Slot revealed he had to speak to Alexander-Arnold in his office during pre-season because he was not happy with the right-back's work rate.
"It is already a first gift I can give Xabi Alonso but I wasn't completely happy with every single minute how he was on the training ground," said Slot. If Slot is saying that now it is pretty poor form I'd say, what's the point other than taking a cheap shot at the player.!!!
There is absolutely nothing to gain by stating that now and with the last home game and what surely should be a day of celebration why in the world would you want to pour petrol on the fire on the eve of the game...spiteful stuff really. |
