Terry remained in the band until his death. He was playing spoof Russian roulette and said to his friend "don't worry, it isn't loaded" ...the rest is history.
Good shout with #9, they produced one of the best singles of all time with Unfinished Sympathy. Awesome video too. Can't really give you number 8, not quite enough and doesn't hit what I'm looking for. There were four more, but they were all compilations. Try to work it out from that. |

Now that's a lot warmer, but not quite hit the nail on the head.

Their Mezzanine album is a work of genius imo. Very dark, very vibey. But get a nice bottle of scotch, dim the lights and let it carry you. It's beautiful.
As for Chicago, I only know because (like everyone else whoever picked up a guitar) our band used to do 25 or 6 to 4. Difficult to pair them with the band that did Hard habit to break. 8. Is it number one albums in both UK and US in different decades? |

Well done Dixie... that's it. Best selling albums in their respective years and (as said) the other four were compilations.

She was great back then. I saw Pat Benatar at Hammersmith Odeon, don't recall any others but I may have if I get my old tickets out.

I had a copy of Animals back in the day too Aspro, Radio Caroline used to play all of the tracks from it - the station was responsible for my musical education (still is!).

I never got to a band PoP, although I did start drumming lessons with sticks and a pillow (to teach me to move my wrists and not rely on the drum) and jammed a few times with friends but soon gave that up. I have an acoustic guitar upstairs, but probably wouldn't play in public. Do you still play?
Animals is a good album, but nowhere near the class of DSotM and Wish You Were Here. I do love 'Sheep' though and would probably be 2nd in my favourite tracks, behind Comfortably Numb. I've seen them four times in addition to watching Roger Waters perform DSotM at the MEN. |
