They better spend wisely as they still need to buy a football team and pay off their DEBT.
Report LoyalHoncho May 25, 2025 1:55 PM BST
The reality of course is - however much it might stick in Arsenal fans craws - that currently, not in the past, .i.e. as we write, Spurs presently, in the here and now, have a trophy nestling nicely in their trophy room, whatever that trophy room may look like and Arsenal don't.
Well done Spurs. Arsenal report card reads - "must do better"!

Report Whisperingdeath May 25, 2025 6:45 PM BST
Get real. Arsenal have needed a centre forward for 11 years ( discounting Aubamayang )

They have needed a centre midfield for 15 plus years until Rice arrived.

They needed a centre back until Saliba was eventually allowed to play ball.

Still need a goal scorer, left wing and Zubimendi.

The only thing Totteringham need is prayer.

United just made 200 low paid employees redundant. Good. Nice one Ratcliffe man of the people.

I think I would rather be an Arsenal supporter than either United or Spuds.

Here is my pennyworth on the gooners.

i think they have a decent manager and i d defo stick with him. they were in free fall when he took over and allbeit hes won nothing he has taken them to a premiership contending team and done well in champions league.

he defo needs more time and i think he can achieve something- beside which what are thwe alternatives.

arsenals problem is they cannot finish teams off -way too many draws againsy inferioior teams and they need to find moregoals.

stick with it gooners - you will get there in the end ifyo stick with the manager and make a few really good signings to strengthen the team.

However, Henry, a 1998 World Cup winner with France, believes Atletico Madrid’s former Manchester City hitman Julian Alvarez could be the answer to their problems.

He said: “One of my favourite nines out there at the minute is Julian Alvarez. We’ve been talking about it, putting pressure, playing alone, low, whatever you want to do. Did you see the free-kick he scored the other day?

“He can hold the ball alone, he played at the Olympic Games, he played in the Copa America. I don’t hear him saying, ‘I’m tired’ or not tired. Hopefully nothing bad is going to happen to him. He’s played everything and the way he plays, I just like him.”

Spurs also won the CWC but I don't even count that as an honour.

You're really scrapping the barrel with the Fairs Cup.Laugh "As the name suggests, the competition was set up to promote international trade fairs. Friendly games were regularly held between teams from cities holding trade fairs and it was from these games that the competition evolved. Initially, the competition was only open to cities that hosted trade fairs, and where the cities' clubs finished in their national league had no relevance. Early competitions also featured a "one city, one team" rule, with some teams selected from multiple clubs. Due to the one city one club rule, in several seasons London entered a team that consisted of mixed players from various London clubs, the team was called London XI."

arteta has been a massive underachiever for a club that should have won at least one title in his tenure, poss 2
Report Whisperingdeath May 31, 2025 10:57 AM BST
Maybe but he has steadied the ship and if the new transfer guy can get his sheite together Arsenal will be in a position to challenge with 3 acquisitions. It is hard to win a league without a centre forward.

Criticism to Arteta is  due but  look at Manchester United, Manchester City, Totteringham. Look how much money Chelsea have spent and how many players have been accumulated. Newcastle are a one city club but now owned by a Sovereign Wealth Fund.

Only one team have been well managed. They are also the team who suffered the least injuries to key players. If they suffer as few next season then well done they are doing something right.

Liverpool have also identified areas to strengthen. They got Frimpong for almost free ( £10m for Trent! ) and worryingly  are going for  Wirth, which, will give them better attacking options.most frighteningly they might be going for an exciting striker. That would move  the goal posts and make Arteta’s job much more difficult.

Chelsea might be getting two decent strikers to go with a tough midfield.

City might do better but I doubt will challenge Liverpool.

I don’t know who you would get to replace Arteta. Be careful what you wish for. Curbishly has taken Charlton as far as he can!
Report elise May 31, 2025 11:41 AM BST
i don't know who they get to replace either, but his last 2 months in every season has been a complete fail, i think 2nd or 3rd keeps him in a job, but actually the club has achieved very little

arsenal have the basis for a strong title challenge, he finds ways to bottle it
Report elise May 31, 2025 11:46 AM BST
look at next season, lpool might be less motivated having won it, it happens the desire just falls off enough and their final month shows they were in beach mode, so what if they don't fire?

city have a massive distraction in the summer and that's before you see the rebuild and the charges still hanging over them

that leaves arsenal, poss chelsea and at a real push newcastle, seriously i cannot see how arsenal shouldn't win a title but with the striker question and arteta in charge you have to wonder if he can make it happen
Report Whisperingdeath May 31, 2025 2:55 PM BST

What sticks out for me when I watch Arteta's Arsenal is now slack they when attacking.  E.G., I like Trossard a lot but once passes it he stops running.  He (and) they, should be running to give the other guy an option.
Pass, run and make yourself available. Rice was exceptional (good to watch maybe better ) late on this last season with an added attacking dimension to his game.  They should make him captain for me.  He would maybe demand more from the others around him.
Something needs changing

Report Whisperingdeath May 31, 2025 6:06 PM BST
Arsenal have stopped running off the ball because nobody passes it forwards. It must be quite dispiriting.

Wirtz is kwality and gives them a new dimension.
Report PorcupineorPineapple May 31, 2025 6:08 PM BST
I think there needs to be a conversation around Odegaard. Him and Saka are your only real creators in the team. Saka's great obviously. But Odegaard just disappeared in the second half of the season. I'd agree that Rice should have the armband, but the captain's place in the team could also be up for grabs too.
