Les McKeown's brother lived next door to a mate of mine back in the day. He (his bro.) had two bullets left on his doorstep one night. I don't know if he (the bro.) got the message or not but my mate's missus was well spooked and they moved away pronto. They'd spent close to 30K doing it up too and had been in it only two weeks. Memory not so reliable nowadays but I recall that Les himself did a famous top jockey job and had a female passenger badly hurt in a car he was driving. Not a lot of refinement in that family.
The Rollers were well tucked over financially by the local lowlife who managed them. Can 't remember his name now but he was a well know peedough of the day. Took most of their hard-earned for himself. |
