Hi all
Slippy has contacted me to say he is now out of the ICU and is recovering at home.
He has said that he has been completely overwhelmed by everyones kind messages and has found it really humbling.
He is set for a long haul after such a massive op and is on Oxycodone for 28 days. SB has carers coming in to look after him 4 days a week and is continually supported by his family.
He is on 40 pills a day and cant sit up so its difficult to read or return messages so he wont be on the forum for some time and reckons it will be a 6 month recovery period.
so its great news that he is now home and is on the long road to recovery.
i will of course keep you all updated on his progress over the coming months.
thanks to you all for your kind words and messages which means a lot to him in his journey to recovery.
the forum at its best for sure.
lets hope palace can win the fa cup for him.

Slippy, your canine namesake gave me one of my biggest heartbreaks ever in greyhound racing when he beat my biggest ante-post bets in Druids Johno, but I recovered and so will you, you have many more winners to back, so, good luck, everyone is rooting for your speedy recovery. cheers from a happy Bairn whose local team just won the Scottish Championship.
Good to hear he is on the mend - hope the carer's duties include accompanying him to the Cup final

best wishes to Slippy....it is good that Palace are in the final as that will keep his spirits up despite the journey ahead....the only thing i would just like slippy and all the palace fans to remember is....Millwall are South London and always have been

@Escapee, the dragon said he has had major surgery (idk what for), and recovery is a long process.
I feel it is for slippy himself to give out his personal, medical situation and let's hope he feels and is able to do so very soon. I do know he had a chronic condition and the op. most certainly will have saved his life.
SB continues his recovery at home and continues with the pain killers- hes hoping the pain will plateau and begin to ease by Monday .
Otherwise the slow long road to recovery continues to progress.
He must be beginning to progress as he has told me he may make a placepot bet at the weekend! So thats good news.
