Ashley Williams saying the Trent AA goal was "an unbelievable goal".The ball bounced in front of him edge of box he hit it mid height at goal ,keeper couldn't stop it though got hands to it .A decent goal is how id describe it,nothing more .Why they feel they have to go over the top with their comments,I don't know but they're all doing it now .Roy Keane the exception.

I've largely given up listening to pundits. Apart from Keane the only other one I'd listen to is Carragher.

I can't abide, Neville, Shearer or McCoist

Keane is good, there may be one or two others, some of the females are no worse than the men. The likes of Carragher, Neville, Richards are not worth listening to when talking about their former teams. Neville making ejaculation noises at every major incident when commentating is another more recent way he's discovered to be irritating as well as clueless.

don't like any, money grabbers, no need for them

They are hopeless.state the obvious and over-explain everything in a very tedious way. They are in a privileged position, but very few of them realise that anybody could do what they do, given the chance. Took them years to figure out that Pogba was a dud, even though it was obvious to anyone with a pair of eyes, even before Man U wasted their money on him. All the hyperbole about Sancho, Hudson-Odoi, even Sterling and that muscle-bound donkey at Fulham have been blown up to ridiculous levels. Many more have been bummed up by these twats. Too many to mention.

Sky coverage has a real cringe element to it pundit-wise that BT seems not to.

The PL produced coverage that is only available to foreign channels and which people in the UK generally don't get to see doesn't have any of this.

May as well get a bird from Love Island in instead of Walcott.

Pundits are just there to fill dead air. No one is forced to listen to them.

You don't learn anything listening to Keane, it's just good for the soundbites and youtube clickbait videos when something dramatic has happened or United have had another pummeling. His general opinions does carry weight given his record and standing in the game though. When Jamie Redknapp and Micah Richards are talking, you just know everyone watching is waiting for them to stop talking so Keane can have his say. I think Simon Jordan said a while ago that he learns even less when listening to Redknapp lol.

Carragher and Neville are much better for technical insights but the latter is generally insufferable as a personality and it's all a bit Punch and Judy. The likes of Sturridge and Walcott offer nothing and are just trying to carve media careers out for themselves but there's nothing personable about them let alone charismatic. Walcott too posh to be on a football programme, Sturrdige too Yardish and and the same time, nonchalant.

Ale Moreno on ESPN for my money is by far and away the best analyser of the game, albeit occasionally delivered in a slightly theatrical manner, you can tell he really know what he's looking at when he's discussing a match just gone, makes the other pundits look like amateurs.

Kind Regards.

Where is the messiah JJ now, is his TV career finished.

I was listening to an old motd from the 1970's motty and Barry Davis, no co commentators, no need for them, now most matches are only watchable with the mute button facility.

Keane is more like a diehard season-ticket-holding fan than a former player in terms of his analysis. He's no tactical genius and gives little insight, but fans would generally agree with most of what he says and wouldn't think he talks bóllocks much. Calls a spade a spade, even when talking about Man U and is genuinely funny at times. Was a manager too and successful briefly.

Wouldn't say any of that about the other regulars. Souness was similar but not as good but he got cancelled.

Keane is a surprise pundit, because he always wanted to portray himself as principled, but he's entertainment. However Cash is king.

There is a good interview with Mick McCarthy on Virgin media Ireland it's enjoyable if you are football man.

Obviously his relationship with Roy came up, and he was very diplomatic and extremely complimentary, in the main.

Tommy the lad that was hosting it said "What do you thing of Roy as a pundit"
Big Mick said "He has his own style, we all do, but I'm surprised he done it because when he played he thought they were all muppets" and he had a wee smile and a wink to the interviewer.

Aluko makes a fair point about Ian Wright trespassing on women's football commentaries. Let's hope she is true to her word and steers clear of men's football, although I think that decision's been taken for her.
