I placed a bet on Estudiantes vs Universidad de Chile just before the final whistle while the score was 2-2 for there to be over 4.5 goals at 19/20, £75 wager. However shortly after placing the bet the goal was disallowed for offside and the score changed to 2-1 and my cashout went to nothing but the bet wasn’t voided. The team sat back and defended their lead for the rest of the game. I contacted live chat and told them the goal was disallowed after I had placed the bet and they said the bet is settled corrected and not voided. Is this correct ?
I feel for you 'Makkap58'. Betfair is a law unto itself here.
Yesterday, the game concerning Coventry was suspended for ages in the 2nd half whilst 365 and 'billie' were still betting on it. There was no possible untoward event happening. Also, betfair would allow bets on The Exchange even though a VAR could be called into play or being called into play; players could be negatively affected financially.
There is little consistency with their governance on any in-running betting platform. Betfair is the judge and jury. Beware!

the goal was disallowed barely a second after the ball hit the back of the net as he was offside in the build-up. my guess is you bet on over 4.5 goals after a micro suspend and got hoovered.

I remember an incident in the early days of BF. They posted up a 3 result match without the draw option and a bot was making a market as if it were a two result outcome, ie draw no bet. A few of us arbed against the bot with other bookies as the bot kept filling out at the same prices. Eventually, Betty staff must have noticed and cancelled all bets that is in favour of the bot owner and leaving us high and dry and having to scramble to minimise exposure. Was it Betty's bot? Who knows?

Surely it depends on the price you got, 2-2 price Or 2-1 price.
Can’t give you 2-2 odds,then say it’s 2-1 now.
When the score changed, did the odds.
If your bet was priced at 2-2,then tough.

@DIE LINKE It was 2-2 when I placed the bet , hence was the odd was only 19/20 on the bet for there to be another goal in the last 20 odd minutes. Betfair them changed the result a minute later and the odds for over 4.5 goals went to 13/2 and my cashout went to basically zero just after placing it.

So your 75 quid at 19/20 should be refunded, palpable error.
If you want 13/2,at 2-2. Then that’s a different issue.
Maybe void bet,
So ,you can argue this,Not sure I read you right,But saying ,2-2 odds 19/20.When 2-1 odds 13/2.So your 75 quid at 19/20 should be refunded,palpable error.If you want 13/2,at 2-2. Then that’s a different issue.Maybe void bet,
I have contacted the live chat 3 times and, they don’t understand what I mean after I explain it several times. They just keep saying sir you needed over 4.5 goals and there was only 3 goals. Am I better off phoning ?

They don’t have a phone number, live chat is pointless.
Just slumdog millionaire, jamel malik, char Waller from Mumbai.
Go ibas,if your right, you ll get refund.
It’s all about the odds,if took odds of 2-1,then tough,if took odds of 2-2,then clearly void bet..
But if 2 goals scored in last minute, you would of collected, but they could of reduced your winnings

you didn't really mean "just before the final whistle" in the OP did you?
You need to emphasise that the bet should have ben voided when the 4th goal was disallowed, that you placed the bet when the score was briefly 2-2
with 20 minutes to go and the score 2-1, odds for >4.5 would not be 19/20. they'll see it from the time stamp on the bet if they look at your query properly

I explained it properly with the exact odds and time etc…., the last time I contacted them they just said they could no longer void the bet because I let it settle, . I just left the bet because I expected it to void automatically. I’ll contact ibas to see if they’ll help.

Ask to speak to complaints manager or senior account handler
They often make feck ups, but generally after a few phone calls they get it right.
Clearly this bet should be voided.

It is bad what’s happened. Haven’t they got a caveat saying something along the lines of ‘data we provide might not be accurate’? Which basically means you bet on the game at your peril, and they aren’t liable if you’re taking their word for the correct score at the time of placement?
A refund would be a bonus because your bet didn’t land anyway. No goals were scored after you placed your bet. It would be advantageous for the punter if they did ‘one more goal to be scored’ which is what people are actually betting on. This over X amount of goals can come back on us if a goal is ruled out after a bet has been placed.

This pretty much sums up live-chat - you'd have more luck "communicating" with a deaf, dumb, blind Albanian 4 year old via a Ouija Board. It's a completely unacceptable format for providing customer service.

I don't think you've got much chance of a refund. (IMHO)
Getting 'done' and always being on the wrong side of the 'decision' comes with the game when you play on someone else's pitch.
It's sickening when it happens, but there's not much you can do.

The advisors on online betfair chats are inadequate at times impotent when it comes to dealing with queries; one very seldom gets a bet issue sorted correctly.
I'd email a complaint to peter.jackson@flutter.com (head honcho of Betfair). Just say you placed an in-running bet after VAR had ruled out a goal, but betfair had not corrected its mistake until after you'd placed your bet many seconds (or a minute later) post VAR ie you'd bet 4.5+ goals after betfair had the score at 2-2 (a mistake by Betfair), when it should have been 2-1, if I understand correctly.

there was nee VAR, player was offside in the build-up, the ball ended up at his feet, he scored, turned to celebrate and immediately had his head in his hands as the lino had his flag up.

clearly incorrect given the chance of the event occurring at the time the bet was made including, in either case, because the bet was placed after the start of an event, because the market was not displaying or reflecting in-play status, or because of any other reason, then all bets will stand HOWEVER Betfair will settle winning bets at the correct price.

Isn't the issue that what you are watching isn't actually "live" but a few seconds behind?
And don't Betfair provide such a warning in their t&cs?
I heard a story a while ago that it was possible to pay for real "live" pictures of foreign football where you were ahead of the Betfair pics and it was simply a case of getting on before the timer counted your bet out

I'd a bet on Wycombe vs Stevenage earlier. The score on betfair Exchange was showing 0-0. But, BBC text had indicated a goal. This went on for a good 20/30 secs until betfair amended the score to 1-0; the betting on the number of goals section was not suspended.
