Will Tuchel M.E.G.A (Make England Great Again)

The one thing I admired about Southgate was his willingness to turn his back on the old system and start injecting the team with 'young' talent. It almost worked and probably should have worked had he let them off the leash. I fear we may be reverting back to type with a few of the inclusions. Jury still out.

You will know pretty early on if Tuchel is going to be a winner.

His first team selection.
If he includes Kane and Bellingham in the starting xi, then you know he is doomed to make the mistakes of every other head coach since Sir Alf.

He should build his team around Bellingham and find balance in that team. Plenty of very good players around and now some defenders emerging. Balance the midfield. So much attacking talent available

The problem I have with Bellingham is that he plays in a team of stars and it sometimes feels like this is a step down for him and he doesn't perform to his best. Nevertheless, he is a treasured asset and all it will take is a decent manager to help him mature with the national team. Initially I agree with WD because he may have felt stifled by Southgate's tactics and this could be a new lease of life for him. Here's hoping.

The thing with Bellingham is he is a good goalscorer but technically he is not a great footballer.
He is not in the same league as Foden. Or Grealish for that matter. Or probably Cole Palmer. Ingerlund fans voted Palmer their player of the season and tho they may be a rowdy obnoxious bunch the wisdom of crowds is rarely wrong.
Its also interesting that in the Euros Final Bellingham found himself patrolling the unwanted left flank. After Foden had looked a fish out of water there all tournament. Finally the pecking order was sorted out. Quite categorically it was Foden ahead of Bellingham as no10.

If you want to build a team around Bellingham, then Kane is a non runner straight out of the gate.
We all saw what we saw in the Euros. Kane dropping deep getting in the way.
Kane is little more than a false 9 these days.
He will need pace on the flanks and a hard running midfield capable of going box to box.
Its a very limiting strategy which will put the onus on whoever plays out wide.  A fully fit and raring Saka & Rashford would be ideal. But you aint gonna get that this week. And in the searing heat of a continental North American summer, well... best of luck with that.

So here we go again with Ingerlund.
The history of every single manager since Revie left for the middle east is of pretty much an overpromoted FA favourite who cant believe his luck  getting to manage sundry Liverpool, Man U, Chelsea etc superstars.
He has never managed at that level before and doesnt have the chops to put them in their place by dropping them.

Which is a pity.
The amount of players you have and have always had at your disposal is incredible.
You could probably go down to League 1 and select a side capable of qualifying for the world cup.
Birmingham City's Jay Stansfield being a case in point. The kid is exceptional. I wish he was Welsh.

How do you fit Bellingham, Foden and Palmer into this team. I say you don’t.

So many choices wide. Saka, Rashford / Gordon will do me. Nwaneri. Palmer could play wide. Foden should not.

I got no problem with Kane or Watkins

Defence emerging around Guehi and Konsa.

The midfield is the likely issue for me. Might Rice not be the right fit? Talents are emerging
