Water companies being privatised was supposed to be good for us. What happened? Infrastructure often neglected,large borrowing and all the time owners getting paid dividends. Now things difficult and us the consumers will end up footing the bill to put things right. Just received my latest water bill - ouch, correct that make it a big ouch!

Look at Man Utd, things neglected, now loaded up with expensive debt and with the owners getting their nice dividends. Financially not in a good position with consumers (fans having ticket prices raised) and staff cuts bearing the brunt of what is happening to improve things. If this development goes ahead who will most of the eventual costs fall on. The British taxpayer, that being local and/or national? Fans? Will it give the owners a very valuable asset without them having to put much of their own money? Just wonder how much the Glazer family have taken out in dividends compared to what it has actually cost them in total in their overall financial outlay in buying the club?

Would we see a large public cost with the owners reaping long term large dividends?

The teams who Man Utd probably look to as the biggest sports franchises in world sport, namely the Yankees and the Dallas Cowboys..
THey have been pretty average since their new revenue making citadels were constructed 15 years ago.


Not buying this, as neither team has been restricted in their spending due to stadium payments, in particular Dallas in the NFL with the salary cap. NYY used to be best run team on top of all the spending they're now light years behind teasm like the Dodgers in terms of organisational strength.

This stadium will be huge handicap to man utd though, their finacial edge has been diminishing in recent years and they're a complete clown show as an organisation.
