yep, he's got plenty of improvement in him (only 20 still) and from a good base, doesn't get weighed down by pressure @ Utd for the most part... (does have d***head potential as you allude to)

casemiro is an obvious issue, can see more injuries looming for this first 11 if they are playing like this every week, he's got to use some younger players

Casemiro gone at the game but at least playing alongside Ugarte gives him a chance to not be as exposed..
last week was ridiculous leaving him often isolated..

The united manager looks a dud. Players don't know what system they are playing. People will say he needs time. His record & stats since he come in are a disgrace. The club is a mess

To be fair to Amorim, he's wearing another manager's clothes and is being judged in them, imagine being a manager and not wanting about 85% of the players you're working with, then he has the probably Emery had at Arsenal, found it hard to get rid of players he didn't want on top whack, like Ozil.

it's definitely in danger of being so bad he doesn't get an encore..
I think he should get a proper go next season with pre season..but subject to the bottom 3 or 4 results they may not have a choice..
included in that though is that a payoff might breach PSR..and lead to points reduction..

I said it before and I'll say it again, Amorim was never the right guy to appoint, a year ago no fooker had heard of him, then he has a flurry in Portugal and we hear that City are looking at him and United are suckered in.
He has no pedigree or experience at managing a top club at the top level, is completely unproven and this is what you get, gimmicky soundbytes that he thinks he can appease the fans with and not much else.

No manager is going to fix the problems at United. Sell Garnacho and Mainoo to generate funds to buy players he wants. Wilcox, Berrada are the ones with the biggest jobs. 3-5 year plan needed.

apart from Zidane (totally unrealistic) you never did say much about who you did want from memory..(remind me if I'm wrong)..
I was of the view that he was a virtual carbon copy of ETH in CV terms..so wasn't that excited by the prospect..
thought they missed an obvious in Poch during the summer...Tuchel a possible but probably too prickly for the structure in place..
both were off the market by the time they did pull ETH which felt premature given the summer backing..
most Utd fans (inc on here) assumed part of the reason for RNV and Hake was to give them a plan B if ETH was moved on but when you appoint big money football dept roles and CEO's they have to justify their pay especially early on..

I mean, the whole game was refereed allowing some physical contact, a Utd player had his shirt pulled in the box earlier - no pen and rightly so. Young knows he's not getting to the rebound and just throws himself to the floor.

I agree, Elise, but there was very clearly contact from two players on Young here, so where is the clear and obvious mistake about it? Even Rio says it was a pen!

sure lat it wasn't in the same league, i just thought live it wasn't a pen but yes agree actually it could have been given in some games, whereas the jota one was a blatant cheat getting caught

judging by his Arse' display he'd have been desperate to still give it..but would have looked very suss with the current approval ratio of screen overturns...

by the time VAR showed the only angle/pics that counted reff had made his mind up and turned his back on the screen if VAR had only show the angle.pic that's counted madley would 100% have stayed with his onfield decision, that's why VAR showed him everything but the pics that counted

Im not commenting on what happened, but on the suggestion he can't give a yellow.
He can, as review opens every option.
In reality ref being called to monitor means var consider he has made an error.
Sadly we don't hear the conversation.
