looks quite good outside and inside from the videos I've seen, fans very close to the pitch but why not build a 60,000 seater stadium instead of 52,000? the bigger the stadium the more likely it'd be used for European finals, bigger concerts etc, meaning more income. I imagine they could have filled it. Kind Regards.

The beauty of a dock stadium is that they can sail it to another part of the country or world if their American owners want to relocate the franchise.

They didn't build a bigger stadium because a) they couldn't afford one and b) it would be unlikely to fill for most of the games. Their corporate offer has been expanded dramatically and they are hanging their hat on that.
They breached FFP primarily because the debt costs went up as interest rates rose |

Massive kick off up here about parking restrictions.
My mum lives pretty close to Goodison so we're used to them round here. They basically run from August to May and are set around usual kick off times, so afternoon on the weekends and evenings during the week. It's generally fine and doesn't massively effect the shops on the main roads nearby. At the new stadium, they've already started the restrictions despite only playing one test match and there being only two other tests before the next season. But the kicker is that the restrictions cover all day every day and have got a really wide space covered. Businesses in the area say it's going to kill them - there are a lot of small businesses in the docks area that don't have their own parking. Going to be awful for staff there and also will deter customers. It's an absolute gimme for jobsworth traffic wardens who'll earn the council a fortune. Waiting to see how it'll work getting out of there too. By road, you've basically got the Dock Road. 1 mile back in to town where you hit the strand, which is always a nightmare stretch, or the other way out of town. But it's basically one road. By rail, there's only Sandhills station which is one of those island platforms between the two lines. Not sure how they expect one station to cope with the demand. Could be fun. |

Should do a park and ride on matchdays from the outskirts, anyone more local bus or walk..

there was talk of putting a rail link from sandhills to the ground but not heard anything for a while. Not sure if the new stadium has been confirmed as a Euro 2028 venue but they will get infrastructure money if thats the case to spend on transport. They took a lane out of the Strand road and put a cycle lane in which is hardly used so park and road seems the way to go

All shiny new stadia look great before the first ball is kicked, not sure how it's all been paid for but Id put 10p on the owners not being at risk. P1ssing off the locals even after it's built isn't good for the long term future. My grandad who taught the Everton boys/apprenticeships technical drawing in the 20's and 30's will be spinning in his grave!

Seeing new stadia like Madrid especially makes Arsenal's stadium look dated already and that was only built in 2006, don't know why they didn't go for 70,000 capacity, would easily have filled it, over 100k on the season ticket waiting list, fat cat corporates tripping over themselves to fill the boxes and tourists a plenty. Can't even use it a multi purpose stadium like the spuds, should rip it down and start again. Kind Regards.

Had a quick look at a site yesterday that confirmed the 100k (10 years)
Isn't one = Brighton & Soton First Come First Served = Newcastle, City & Chelsea Palace = 2000 Wolves = 8000 Leicester reckon 2 seasons before availability West Ham = 2 years Villa = 20,000 Everton = 22,000 Spurs = 98,000 Utd = 120,000 Pool = Wait list closed since 2011 |

I'd heard for years they could possibly add 7-8 thousand more but hadn't heard of plans for an extra 20k, would probably mean spending time at Wembley again.

Newcastle don't have a waiting list as they havnt been selling season tickets.
It's thought that it could be around 20k,if they opened sales, maybe more. |
