Can some kind soul please explain how it is that teams that finished 1 to 8 in the league phase don't know which play-off winner they will play
e.g Liverpool could play the winner of Brest PSG or they could play the winner of Monaco Benfica

Because there's another draw after this round and that will be decided along with the bracket for the later rounds, ie that will be the last draw

the reason for these extra draws and that, for e.g. there are pairings (1 and 2; 3 and 4; and so on) is because they don't want teams knowing their exact opponent and deliberately engineering where they finish in the league stage
