There is a lot of hatred on the forum directed at all things United and I thought there should be a place where MUFC haters could gather together and get it all off their chests!

Let's see if any of you can actually be witty!

i was brought up to hate united and have done all my life, when fegurson was winning everything it was particuarly hard as i lived in sale at the time and drank in a united red pub. the banter was someting else but always harmless and as a liverpool fan i took some stick during the 90 s  i can tell you.

but for some resason i take no joy in their curreny plight maybe im just older and more chilled, there was always something special about the liverpool v united games and ive been watching them since the late 60,s.

the prem  and football generally is better with  a good united team - so long as they dont win anythingWink

so hate is a very strong word SNC so i for one wont sign up for that- just hope they get theit act together and play good attacking football like they used to . shocking to watch at the moment

Interesting article I read this week, a bit over-hyped but some relevant points.

Basically after decades of intimidating officials and being gifted games through contentious decisions,
the introduction of VAR has led to a correlation in Man Utd's poor (and dropping) Premier League table positions.

When United fans from Essex (or anywhere else that is nowhere near Manchester) always feel that they have to justify why they support Man Utd.
"Well my Dad, Grandad, Uncle etc supported them and he got me into them..."

This just means that their Dad, Grandad, Uncle or whoever it was ... is a w@nker as well

How do you explain all the hatred for Arsenal then?

The dragon

It’s a real shame that when Liverpools dominated in the late 70s early 80s united were not a serious threat and likewise in the sir Alex era regarding Liverpool, although in both periods there were some great games and surprise results I was brought up to dislike Liverpool but in all honesty I never did, hopefully at some stage there can be a premier league head to head between the two of them ,unfortunately at what I’m seeing it will be a long time away.

Oddly they've only finnished 1-2 in top league twice in last 40 years

1988,and 2009

yes interesting obs jim, never thought about it tbh. i remember watching the likes of best law and charlton from the kop late 60,s early 70s , i thinkboth teams werepretty good then-- but maybe im wrong?
Report The Dragon February 8, 2025 1:36 PM GMT
you also had willie morgan who was pretty good- but maybe you were coming to the end of the charlton bast law era around then?
Report jimnast February 8, 2025 2:07 PM GMT
The dragon united got relegated in 73 Leeds and arsenal were the dominant teams around that time ,Leeds were massive underachievers considering the side they had.
Report jimnast February 8, 2025 2:13 PM GMT
Good call you have to laugh I wouldn’t have remembered either I see in 88 it was 9 points so not much of a thrill 2009 4 points Liverpool got the double over united I really hadn’t realised that.
Report jimnast February 8, 2025 2:15 PM GMT
Just looking a the table from 88 I noticed Chelsea were relegated what a shame
Report jimnast February 8, 2025 2:22 PM GMT

I do hate to agree with Mesy but on football terms he aint wrong. I don't ever remember fans pitying Liverpool or times ever being as bad as they have been, are and will get at UTD. I care much more that we could be on to something with this Slot fella.
