Cracking centre forward imo, shame he's left the Prem.
Thought I heard that Napoli forward was offered £650K
a week?
Unreal money if that's right.

Tax free as well ... fair play to him and wouldn't blame him for saying "fck you" to the premier league

Pun Scum gutted no teams in Switzerland bought him Sad

He's a good goalscorer at a good age.  I wonder why nobody wanted him.  He's not the first player to have a gambling problem and Sandro Tonali seems to be coming back in to the Newcastle squad.  Maybe there is a strong opinion that Toney won't be able to stop himself and is pretty much guaranteed to acquire a further lengthy ban in the future.

Most clubs moving away from signing older players for significant money, lack of sell on value is a big problem especially with the rules surrounding PSR.

Toney although a very decent player not elite class imo and at 28 there's not much room for improvement either...more likely if anything that he's peaked and will be heading the other way mid way through any significant length contract.

I felt Toney was getting better until his ban, which set him back.

Good luck to him, Henderson/saint maximim have shown there are escape
routes from Saudi if you want them.

Interesting point on peaking at 28.
What's happened to mason mount, raheem sterling ...
They seem, to me anyway, shadows of their former selves.
Burnt out already.

I have yet to hear one so called pundit make the observation, that perhaps the reason Toney went to Saudi is because of the way he was treated by the Premier league, over the betting issue, they made an example of him.

Toney went there because of his high principles!! LaughLaugh.. He went there for the Money.. 1.01.

Toney is 28/29 and hasn't relatively been well paid. This is his final BIG contract, chance to earn a good pension.

GL to him and stay away from Betfair!!!

Sterling is an example of motivation burning out. Hes won plenty so winning another PL is hardly going to drive him on. He got pi55ed that at the end Pep could see he couldn't produce at the absolute top level in the CL. 2021 was his final moment (after the Euros with ENgland) and he couldn't produce in either. Shamefully wouldn't take a pen in the final after scoring for City in a Carabao cup final shootout at the same venue.

Mount was never good to begin with. Massively over rated. Only once at Chelsea he scored into double figures (11 in the PL) and that season included 4 goals against Norwich and more against Leeds, Watford and another 2 away to Southampton.

He has never once performed against a top team.

I genuinely think he is borderline Championship class.

like Phil mick in golf  ,maybe toney is going to Saudi to pay off gambling debts,hr,s of spare time only family to turn to if they go /settle not a good place for a compulsive gambler to be ,maybe he thinks he can bet to his hearts content on himself and his team in Saudi, 90% of these players going to Saudi wont be seeing their contracts out
