I think hes fantastic.....stands up for what he believes in and is a pretty good penalty taker also

Great footballer, only player outside of Newcastle that I would ever travel to see. I remember the two crackers he scored against us at the Dell, amazing golas....then he topped it with two even better ones at Blackburn a week or two later, superb player who should have had many more international caps.
Wasnt he dropped after scoring a hatrick for England B against Russia, hit the wwodwork twice and had an assist as well? Then Hoddle decided not to pick him for France 98, disgraceful decision. |

Very talented players named there Duffy and Phil Thompson magnificent career, I didn’t watch it that much I’d be watching racing but I do think it may have ran it’s race, maybe it was money cut backs, who knows ? I don’t anyway but I think merse is still there, another talented player.

Soccer Saturday used to be essential viewing (could still channel hop to the Racing whilst watching) - Stelling was absolutely brilliant anchoring the show, best in the business by a country mile. But when they sacrificed Le Tiss, Nicholas, Thompson and co in order to worship at the altar of diversity they completely ruined the show.
I'm not sure if Thompson is "anti Sun" or not Malay, obviously much of the City is but i don't know why they can't let it go after all this time. There is nobody working at the paper who was there back in those days and the editors have apologised for the awful reporting of their predecessors, what more can they do ? The paper still sells in the city, despite all of the campaigns against it, although nowhere near the number it once did. I used to buy it in the 90s when i was up there and nobody had a go at me for doing so  . |

We certainly can Malay, a uniquely gifted player who should have won many more caps for England. I read his autobiography a few years back, well worth getting a copy.
