I would like to see other people's opinions on voided bets.
I had an incident yesterday when I put a large back bet on South Korea to beat Malaysia in the Asia Cup.
I backed this early in the game and believe I had traded the position lay bet soon after. The system matched the bets and showed by current position which was fine.
I placed many bets during the game and at the end, all bets settled and everything looked fine.
After the game had finished my account went into a big negative balance as they voided all the bets and looked to have manually re-instated most of them.
I was left £300 short as they said a VAR call happened around the 20th minute into the game and so they voided my bet, even though the system was showing otherwise.
Its like if you trade a bet and then close your position shortly after, only to be told an hour or more later that the bet should have been voided.....but wasn't.
I have had bets voided before but they are done there and then, not over an hour later once the game is complete. If something is voided you should be put back to the pre-voided position and allowed to make your call from there.
How can you possibly trade when the system is showing you a false position?
I would like to hear if others have had experience of this.
Yeah. Their treatment of VAR is an absolute shambles. They should change their rules and say what will be will be with regards VAR. All bets should stand. Keep the market suspended if they want to wait for clarity.

Unfortunately plenty of times. Sometimes I've lost out, sometimes gained a little bit. The worst was I think England-Germany friendly maybe last year where my small exposure was transformed into a massive exposure but the score went in my favour in the end.
Occasionally I recognise some matches that might pose a problem and try force an engineered position on certain outcomes that would diminish my problems.
But, and it's a massive but, it's a lot of guesswork.
Yes, VAR does not help Betfair, but for me there are better solutions they could introduce. But they don't care, and won't do anything about it.

I had an issue recently on Iran v UAE where I had a back and lay bets placed within a VAR void time period, but because my unmatched lay bet was matched 2 seconds after their void time they only voided the back part of the trade leaving me with a large liability that I could not then trade out
Surely if they are going to void all bets within a set period they also need to cancel unmatched bets also placed within that period?
Shambles
