Betfair are saying they are voiding bets in first half post first goal, as it didn’t clear successfully? They only suspended market about 1 min before half time and voided all bets between something like 15 mins onwards? How can this possibly happen?

When Stoke went 1-0 up I laid them in HT market for £20 @ 1.52 and same amount @ 2.56 in the match odds - both bets were matched. I checked at HT expecting a credit of £20 for the HT bet as WBA had equalised, and to be in a good position in the match odds, only to find no trace of the bets. I contacted Betfair, who told me, and I quote: "I am afraid I have reviewed this and all matched bets between 12:15:56 - 12:47:10 were voided as the 1st goal failed to process. I do apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused however this is a trading discussion."

I think we need to make a complaint to the Gambling Commission about this, as it is very fishy. The market would have repriced befor your lay bets, even if Betfair made a human error after first bets. Your lay bet on Stoke at 1.2 seemed correct price.

How can you ever have an in play bet going forward, without thinking all your bets could be then voided?
If all bets are backed out after an error, immediately after error occurred then that’s absolutely fine, but not 30 mins after? I think Betfair have made a human error at time of first goal and compounded it with voiding bets after market has later repriced. Imagine if you had serious bet on a market. It really brings into question of integrity and confidence going forward. |
