I don't know quite what the supposed appeal of Roy Keane is.
1) Not a great footballer. His reputation hinges largely on cementing an already injured Zinedine Zidane in '99 and walking out on Ireland in '02. Once a quitter, always a quitter.
2) Triple failure as manager and coach.
3) Indulged by Neville and others as if they are allowing for some debilitating affliction affection him.

you'd struggle to find someone from Utd team mates or fans that don't believe he was a great player...
and if you want medals to prove it..count them...

Ferguson singled Keane out for praise after that match. But that was because he deliberately injured a true great (Zizou) and picked up a booking and missed the final (took one for the team).
Keane was just a thug pushing the envelope of what was acceptable. Got too big for his boots. Ferguson betrayed him. Great.

Roy was a great player but he is a total characature of himself now.
Even Sky Sports take the pi55 out of him with constant references to his relationship with Ferguson and stiring the 5hit.
He harps on about seeing himself as a manager yet doesn't have the hunger or humility to drop into League 1 or 2 and earn a decent job.
There was an interview recently with keith Lynch who said he chatted with Roy in the bar at Blackburn after a match and a kid approached Keane to sign an autograph and Keane refused.
Luckily for him he's still behind Neville and Beckham as biggest k*obs from that Utd era

bit like sourness was for Liverpool. Every team needs players like that even in this modern era.

Seen him play at Chelsea back in the day and he totally run the game, one of the best solo performances I've ever seen..box to box was like a well oiled machine.. thought he looked under the weather in the sky studio yesterday, perhaps he's had the flu or something..
