Seen any good films/series lately

Anyways, gonna try and get Legends watched tonight and tomorrow before jollies.

I cashed up after one episode of the Cage. Give the woman something to work with ffs!

I watched the first episode too and gave up. Sounds like I made the right decision!

Nah, Beeb in particular have had plenty of winning bets, while the streamers are also chock full of rubbish. This had a fairly big star, and it wasn't scrimping on production values. Schumacher's always going to get another run as The Responder is really good. This was just a bit of a miss.

Yes, that's why GoT, The Crown & White Lotus were on the BBC.

Last week I watched Weapons 18 2025 ‧ Horror/Mystery ‧ 2h 9m  Horrifically bad! I just couldn't stop watching.. So bad I Quite enjoyed it.. 2.5/10 imo.

Last night I watched Giant 15 2025 ‧ Sport/Drama ‧ 2 hours Prince Naseem Hamad biography.. Was interesting, always disliked Hamad in the past.. After watching the movie, I was correct all along.. 5/10 imo.

Going to make time for Americana very soon...

I thought Weapons was disappointing cnsidering the favourable reviews I had heard beforehand.

New season of FROM starting soon, recommend this if you haven't seen it yet, creepy horror.

The aforementioned Legends is my choice of viewing tonight. Didn't realise it was based on a true story.

Advert just came up on the radio and it sounds an interesting watch after all.

On episode 3 of Legends finding it a little uneven and there was a hell of a coincidence at the end of episode 2

Anyone watched LUCKon HBO ,I ve watched the first four episodes which is centred around the world of horse racing and gambling in the states, it has a decent cast including Dustin Hoffman, Denis Farina and even Gary Stevens is in it, it was made in 2012 and was renewed for a second series but was cancelled due to animal welfare concerns as three horses died during filming of the first season of the show.

Saipan 2025 - film about Mick McCarthy vs Roy Keane..

I enjoyed it.

I watched Luck back in 2012. It was very good. Hard to believe they couldn't stop injuring horses.

Need something good tonight on Netfix or Prime, just cannot bear to watch Eurovision.

Just finished watching Legends on netflix, nearly gave up after first one but I got hooked after a couple of episodes , although certain scenes which may possibly true are a bit tricky to believe without giving away spoilers. But an interesting focus on the lesser known customs and excise work.Decent cast and reminds me of The Knock which was a similar kind of series in the eighties .

I watched that over the weekend case. Was OK to be fair. Found out after that it was Boris' wife.

I watched the new film Apex last night on Netflix. The opening scene soon gave away how it was going to play out, but I kept going until the hunt began and then just kept pressing the 10 second forward button as I wasn't prepared for watching a cat and mouse game for 30 minutes or so. I stopped with around 30 minutes to go to see it out.

Taron Egerton is building up a head of steam as an actor and has beefed himself up for this film. Charlize Theron is very fit for her age and fit the part well, but it was all a little too familiar and predictable for my liking. Couldn't recommend because it's a boring rehash of so many that have come before, but from a critical perspective, the two leads held their own, if nothing else.

I watched it in two sittings. Just about passable imo. I do like a cat and mouse film though.

Eden Lake was a good one. I can’t remember the two main stars names, but they went on to do very well since then.

Can't get into any of the modern westerns coming out of America. Just looks like the same thing over and over again.



Started Legends the other day. Really, really like it so far. Neil Forsyth is one of my favourite tv writers. Characters are all great, good storyline, some great camera work too. Looking forward to completing it.

The White Lotus series she was in was very good and Reality was as well.

Yeah, she was decent in Reality and The Housemaid. Haven't seen Euphoria yet. Looks kinda spicy. I'll check it out.

Definitely give "Euphoria" a go sofaking.

Watched the first episode last night and looking forward to watching the next one tonight and watch the whole charade unravel.
Mother and daughter set up a charity and looks like they get their hand caught in the till.

Very few programmes/films have kept me interested recently, but will be watching this later for sure.

A recent murder trial :in summoning up the judge said the guilty defendents TV watching habits showed an unhealthy interest in  murder documentaries.

Just thought ffs,true crime is a genre that many take interest in every serial killer has a documentary not to mention the volume of dark thrillers involving crazies with knifes.

Half Man wtf have I just watched? Well it must've been kind of good as I got all 6 watched in 2 sittings. Written by and starring Richard Gadd alongside Jamie Bell as the elder Ruben & Niall, it charts the history of them from the last 40 years. Ruben is the certified nutter of who's wing Niall falls under. This is a pretty tough watch at times and not for the faint hearted but I thought the acting sublime, especially the young Ruben. It's not without flaws though. We are supposed to believe these obvious age 20+ actors are schoolchildren and the transformation from these to the adult Gadd & Bell is strange to say the least. Same with an elder Albie. Still, these are things we can put up with as this fascinating tale of woe goes on and on til it's conclusion. A solid 8 from me but realise this won't be for everyone. Btw, I believe Paul Gadd also wrote and starred in Baby Reindeer, which I haven't seen, so I didn't have that in my mind judging this. Think I may give that a watch. Will it be worth it?

Baby Reindeer is a dark, psychological horror drama.
I preferred it to "Half Man" which is also very good but B.R. is something else.

yeah, it's on my list to catch but with a bit of trepidation.

Watched Hachi:A Dogs Tale the other night with the kids ......must admit for the 1st hour not a lot happened then towards the end had tears streaming down my face.....a true story....incredible really.

Watched that years ago with the kids dancing. Bring a tear to a glass eye it would. Excellent.

Finshed Better Call Saul last night


Thought it was excellent. Had a couple of false starts with it as it was slow to get going, but as with Breaking Bad it soon found its feet. Extraordinary achievement from the creators to make something so incredible and then come up with a prequel that is almost on the same par.

Yeah, BCS is great.

Half Man can't be weirder than Baby Reindeer.  Can it!??

another high vote for 'Better Call Saul' - though I need to finish it still...seen up to series 3 to this point..

Quite enjoyed series 3 of Euphoria - arguably the best of the 3 - seemed to get a  lot of stick for real world (lack of moral lessons, objectification  etc,) ...true representation of some of these themes whilst having a healthy dose of drama unreality inter twinned.. not great but good...7.5/10 against 6-7 at best for first 2 series..

Watching The Guest. Up to episode 2. Fairly intriguing so far. Hope it doesnt get silly.
Macartneys Lost Bass Guitar was excellent.

Better Call Saul was the worst example of a single idea being padded out into a borefest. 6 f***in' seasons!

No amount of writers and directors could breathe real life into it.

I enjoyed Better Call Saul and I've read that some even preferred it to Breaking Bad, but I'm not one of them. BB was a lot better imo, but that takes nothing away from the spin-off; both are good watching, addictive and highly recommended.

I watched Breaking Bad from the start and really liked the first couple of seasons before it went down hill. I was curious about Better Call Saul but literally nothing happened.

It's not enough for a story to have good characters, you also need drama, plot and pace.

If having high standards makes me contrary then so be it.

Brent - carry on with BCS I reckon. Second three seasons are far better and really ramp it up (again like BB I suppose).

The streamers always want extra seasons of successful shows. It takes a very rich writer to turn the money down.

You have to stick with BCS because the first season (his brother as a lock in) is not great but it's worth hanging in there to meet some of the characters.

Agree punch, BCS is worth it. Bit my beat of all time favourite binge is Money Heist.. I'm still in love with Lisbon. Subtitles but so worthy.
A bit too much machine gunning at times but otherwise a delight.
Good soundtrack too, with a bit of a left wing flavour but it will probably not be picked up by those thicko racist reform numbskulls.

American comedy drama about a haunted resort. Some proper proper laugh out loud moments and good scares too, but I reckon it could probably have been cut down from 10 episodes and lost little.

Fully agree with Widows Bay. Started great but as ever, dragged out too much.

Quite fancy watching the new Cape Fear, also on apple , but this too has been made a 10 parter.

Will see how you find it. Have never got on with either of the films of it. Just found them dead hammy.

Season 2 of Sugar starts today. Again a weekly release. Season 1 was okay.

Saw the film Carolina Caroline on Sky Premier. Bit of a modern day Bonnie & Clyde. The 2 mains, Samara Weaving & Kyle Gallner are very good in this. Not brilliant but very watchable and flew by. I enjoyed it. 7/10 for me.

Gave Roofman a watch last night... Enjoyed it, true story.. 7.5/10 from me.. Thanks for the recommendation..

Very late to the Baby Reindeer party but very good. Hard to believe it's a true story.

Just watched Rik Mayall Brilliant documentary on Sky. A lot of things I alreay knew but plenty I didn't. A must watch if your a fan of him.
