Well, the Premier league is done and dusted for another season.

I have no Merseyside affiliations one way or the other, but am glad Everton survived. One of those clubs who, if only for reasons of nostalgia and history, should be in the top flight. It would have saddened me to see them relegated. I hope that Howard Kendall is smiling today and also a good former work colleague of mine, David B, who also left us before his time. God bless both of you.

If I can though show I have a cynical side, I am delighted that Mr Maddison should be showcasing his synchronised "Tom Daley" talents to Championship crowds next season, although no doubt he will be spirited away by the lure of top dollar back into the PL.

I genuinely hope Newcastle will go for Szoboszlai over Maddison.

Disliked him ever since he deliberately got Maitland-Niles sent off, then smirked about in the interview after, he's flaky, largely flatters to deceive and is inconsistent. With Rice, Bellingham, Foden around, he's never going to be first choice for England. Newcastle are in a position to shop in Harrods, Maddison is Waitrose on a good day.

I agree with every single word, mesmerised. He is a horrible little man imho. (PS Just replied to you on the football ref stats thread).

Id love us to take Barnes and Ndidi of their hands…

Barnes seems to have a great attitude I'd like to see him at the City Ground. I wouldn't like to see 'big head' Maddison anywhere near Forest.

Overrated and bad attitude/character reportedly. I doubt Howe will be interested.

Newcastle would be better going for Ward-Prowse.  Trippier well over rated from dead ball kicks.

Ward Prowse is an very very average footballer who wouldnt get into any top half PL team on ability..

Trippier is International Class, a great leader who sets a great example to every younger player at the club, took a pay cut to get back to the PL. Superb from set pieces with 10 assists for Newcastle this season.

Anyone who thinks that Newcaste would take Ward Prowse over Maddison needs to find a different sport to watch. Ten goals and nine assists in the PL for JM is an excellent return for a player who is also a very very good footballer. In my opinion of course.

Prowse does hard yards
Ugly stuff well
He’s corners and free kicks is a weapon
I’d have him at Westham tomorrow!!!!

Ward prowse plays a different position to Maddison.

He looks to be playing a bit deeper these days
Maybe fancies becoming a proper 6.

Maybe poch will take him to Chelsea.

Ward prowse might be a cheapish replacement
for rice, if somebody stumps up the cash.

We need to act on few players quick Westham
Rice saga could last all summer
+ board still ain’t said there fully committed to Moyes next season either
Nothing will happen till late next week after the final
Westham only act in market when season fully started
Never do business early get preseason with new players ever

more goals, more assists than bruno.  in a lot less minutes, playing with donkeys.

can't see him featuring in the championship.

Since the WC finished.....22 games 3 goals (1 of which was a pen). Bottled it when his team needed him.

He is a flat track bully. Szoboszlai is better suited to this Newcastle team from what I've seen in the CL. Newcastle would have looked at Maddison had they not qualified for the CL.

Also he is one of those k**bs who selfies his and hers PJs at Christmas

Why would you compare Bruno with Maddison when one played as a central midfielder and the other primarily a wide attacker? Compare him with someone like Tielemans or Soumare or Maddison with Almiron or Isak. And Leicester weren't quite donkeys in attack, they were actually the highest scorers in the bottom half despite not many goals coming from their strikers. That had a lot to do with Maddison but also Barnes who scored more than him. The donkeys were more at the other end of the pitch.

Agree with some of the comments on here. Always felt he ran hot and cold myself and was more keen on Ward-Prowse tbh. Nevertheless, he's a Spurs player now so let's see if he can show some consistency. No Europe to worry about (thankfully) so he has fewer excuses.

him and hopefully a fully fit Betancur at some point certainly gives plenty of scope for some attractive football which seemed to be one of the biggest gripes about Conte's time in charge..

the lack of a natural replacement for Betancur or another obvious creative player (and indeed losing him just as he was really starting to blossom)  last season probably didn't get enough attention in the Spurs story...

Yes, Bentancur was a huge loss last season. Hopefully he can fully recover but he probably won't be back till at least October. Maybe Maddison is the long-awaited Eriksen replacement.Crazy Some creativity in midfield is desperately needed.
