In this modern era we need more than ever a day like tomorrow it should make those who don’t already appreciate how lucky they were to be born an Englishman be thankful.of what we can do.

He can do one and anyone swearing allegiance to him can do one as well |

I'm not a monarchist nevertheless, I'm not Anti either. There's a place for Monarchy in the UK. I believe it's something other countries would cherish and celebrate if accorded a similar constitution.
I understand money is spent on the Coronation. I think the Coronation also brings in huge amounts of money for private individuals and companies. What I'm surprised is there is no fee charged for the media rights unlike watching young men running around on a pitch week-in, week-out. Just put one's political persuasion or personal views aside and just (for today) let history takes its course. You may watch or either not watch - that's your prerogative. |

We're all watching History , like we did The Queens funeral, in a thousand years time, people will wonder what it was like to live in that era and experience it.
We should be grateful we are watching A great part of our history |

The vast majority are very grateful Dambuster I’ve just arrived at thirsk the racecourse has done a magnificent job the coronation is on all the screens free flags and really nice badges in the royal colours free for everyone.
In less than 12 months this great country will have put on two wonderful shows ![]() |

I never saw you as a fascist SS or a man to through out nasty insulting remarks like that. Each to their own. Look at it this way - our road is closed and we are all getting together as a friendly community and having a blast. Why not put your rage to one side and enjoy the food and drink and the community spirit.
Stop oil couldn't close it but we have!!!! ALL DAY AND EVENING ha ha!!! ps I am not a monarchist. But up for a party with lots of nice neighbours - we should do more of it. |

people abroad 'love the BBC' because they don't have to pay for it, people abroad 'love the Royal Family' because they don't have one and are fascinated by the pomp and ceremony, that's all it is, they wouldn't actually want one foisted upon them, that's why most countries do not have Royal Families, that said most people in the UK have no real strong opinion either way, all they care about is a day off work on Monday and a good ol' piss up, nothing to get worked up about, Kings and Queens in 2023 is painfully outdated but at the same time it's no skin off my nose so I don't really care either way, Kind Regards.

Give King Charles his dues. He highlighted global warming; he's waited 70 years for today.

Something very poetic about a king in a golden coach being driven over a load of potholes filled with wet sand because no one in his country has the money to fix the roads properly

so surprised by the support for the evil that is royalism on this thread
there you go |
|
By:
The Dragon's footbal tipping has become so sh!te that he has to resort to non-footballing topics to attract attention..
|
|
By:
not sure why royalism is evil.....that coont in the robin hood films was not too clever but within my lifetime there has been nothing so negative it could be construed as evil......i know this.....if the monarchy is abolished not many of the great unwashed will see any of the money they have........
|
|
By:
I'm 100% with Dragon on this one. Completely outdated and unnecessary. If he wanted this farce he should have paid for it himself out of the UNTAXED money he inherited from his 'dear mamma'......

What a fantastic spectacle yesterday was for the second time in the last 12 months my country has done me proud, what I noticed more than anything yesterday was all those people who had made the effort to stand in the rain to see the coronation were just happy and smiling.
Now what’s wrong with that ? |
