The reaction of Everton fans is both hilarious and pathetic
|
|
By:
they should get rid of them all - the fans the owners the clubs etc
oh hang on I won't have anywhere to win my money ho ho but like the OP you do wonder at the mentality of the fans |
|
By:
All true from the OP
You notice that if you talk to a supporter of a lower league team no matter how bad they are, they will still have a sense of humour. Everton are hilarious. There was a vid online earlier in the season when they lost 1-0 away to Newcastle where the fans are calling for Lampard to go. Away to one of the top form teams over the last year and they demand he's sacked for losing 1-0 Average length of managers reign in the PL is now 2 years down from 4 10 years ago. Modern top level football is dying on its feet. Money is killing the game. The comment about Liverpool is spot on. Klopp has been amazing. The idea he can't have 1 bad season is comical. |

Curbishley out!
Alan Curbishley has taken Charlton as far as he can! Brain Dead, I think you will find some football fans quite intelligent. Charlton fans knew! They knew Curbishley had taken Charlton as far as he could Maybe they love the wilderness ! |
|
By:
Don't think fans are on Klopp's back are they? Bit of criticism but are fans not allowed to do that now?
|

Being a Charlton fan I never heard anything like that, the fans were very appreciative of what Curbishley did for the club. |
|
By:
wasn't Curbishley bored at Charlton by the end?

Everton fans I don't get.
They have ownership which has been money no object most of the way. They have a poor team because - unlike what most pundits say - there is more to it than simply spending X amount. If they sold up now it would be at bottom price, because Everton's premier league status (the source of 80% of their value) in under threat. So the new owners would be Hicks&Gillette type cheapskates, who likely would be borrowing the purchase money. And aren't they committed to the stadium? Could end up with Leeds 2004 situation + £1.5 Billion more owing. |

I remember Bolton fans saying the same thing about Allardyce after he'd led them to 8th/6th/8th/7th and they all said they needed someone to new to push them forward, which would only ever of happened with an injection of money. He left or was sacked, can't remember, and they spent the next 5 years languishing in the bottom 6 or 7 before being relegated into oblivion, even spent a season in the fourth tier.

lovegod,
Not all of them of course. Give me some poetic licence. I did though distinctively hear a number of Charlton fans on Radio 5 say that Curbishley had done as much as he could and to " move on " to " the next level " Charlton would need a new manager. They just didn't clarify the next level was down and down and down to 4th tier! Same with Allardyce. He might have had a sheite style of football AT TIMES but he did magnificently with what he had and far from being a knuckle dragging neanderthal he was quite a progressive manager. Brain Dead is right. Many football fans are indeed Brain Dead! It not just the fans but managers, players and pundits. He never touched him It's a mans game I've seen them given Then there is quite..... clearly a penalty....never touched him by two managers over the same incident The ref ruined the game not the team who didn't create a chance or the over paid centre forward who missed a sitter. tbf United fans or many did admit Rashford was offisde but it's the rough with the smooth. Apart from stupid many fans are myopic in a way rugby and cricket fans are not. |

I think Everton fans have been hung out to dry by the Everton board by accusing them of putting the female CEO in a headlock without any proof whatsoever in this day of cctv everywhere not to mention mobile phones.
|

Brentford fans are never likely to call for the owner to go. He made a plan to get us where we are. We are behind everything the club do.
Even if we drop back to the Championship I dont think anyone would be calling for heads to roll. After decades of languishing in the lower leagues we now have a proper, well run club. It must be the happiest club in the country. UP THE BEES |

Message to op: being a football fan isn't a mark of sanity. We are deluded folk.

City fans should want Pep out, brought into the win the Champions League and has failed to deliver every single season despite have the most expensive squad in history, all these little diddy cups he's picked up along the way, that's just to fatten his CV out and make it look like he's being successful, nobody gives a monkeys about the league cup, he walked into an oven ready job at City and winning leagues with the squad they had and the money they spent was just par for the course, same at Bayern, he actually took them backwards, never matched Heynecks pts total in his last season, n never reached the CL final, but he 'converted' Lahm from right back to centre mid so he's a genius.
His obsession with possession style of football is dated. |

Everton fans have every right to be unhappy at the owners. Yes, they could end up in a Leeds situation, which is exactly why. Moshiri has been a comlete clown with his spending. They are somehow worse off after it.

I would say that fans of about 95% of the football clubs would love to win the League Cup..
Sky sports etc, can't brainwash EVERYONE into thinking that the Premier League is the be all and end all of everything in English football. Money bags City winning it all the time is boring |
|
By:
in 6 seasons at man city pep has won the league 4 times, league cup 4 times and the fa cup once..........thats 9 wins out of 18 domestic competitions.......thats great management........the premier league is not the french or german league. to downplay his achievemensts is a farce.

Alan Curbishley takes me back. His nephew was in my form group throughout secondary school. He played centre-back in the school team. Was ok but didn't go anywhere near professional football. Alan's brother used to run "football school" on the school grounds in the summer holidays.
