I see a return to Merseyside on the cards.
Lampard took Dele Alli last January transfer window so why not Sterling. |

Chelsea did City a massive favour signing him. City wanted rid for years but nobody would pay him the 300k odd he was on there and he'd have left on a free eventually. City also needed to free up wages to make way for Haaland's monster wages and in come Chelsea to weaken themselves and strenghten a rival. City would have had to get rid of someone like Mahrez or Bernardo plus perhaps another player otherwise.
Boehly replaced Marina with himself. She was one of the most important people at the club. Should have held onto her and needs to replace himself with someone who has a clue in the transfer market. |

Agree with the OP as I've said many times. He should be nowhere near the England starting line up imo.

Potter gone from a Brighton set up where recruitment is excellent to Chelsea where they've bought Sterling Aubameyang and Koulibaly over the Summer. Napoli like City and Arsenal are having a right laugh

Marina was absolutely useless. Signed the absolute disaster that was Lukaku and Havertz who has been a massive failure |

It really is ridiculous to give Marina no credit for all the good things she did and then blame her for flop players. She was an executive and there must have been at least 3 men more involved in selecting players for recruitment. Her job was to negotiate fees and wages and she did an incredible job. The club made profit on player sales for years under her, something which was unheard of at Chelsea before she took the helm.

has a chelsea fan for many years this as made my day, now we have to find another fool to buy him.
he was pretty good at liverpool and in patches at city but is main asset as gone now...PACE, he's finished at the top level. Tuchel wanted him after having 1 good game against them, i don't think he even wanted to come to chelsea. now it's ok wanting rid but who's going to be stupid enough to buy, 325k wages nobody will pay that..or will they..PLEASE |

A ridiculous move from Chelsea signing him. The reason City couldn't get rid was the wages, now Chelsea are paying him even more.

what was it 2 months into signing for Chelsea and he was whinging about how hard done by he was being sold by City.
Let a 19yo up in front of him to take a pen in the Euro final despite the fact he had taken and scored a pen at the same stadium for his club Do any of these clubs look into the character of a player before signing them?!?! |

It's a very good point you bring up. You don;t just sign a player.

He'll probably end up in Saudi Arabia with Ronnie

I was thinking/hoping the same Mecca, perhaps he could have a future as a ballerina.

Lukaku,Werner,Havertz,Aubamayang,Sterling, what a huge waste of money, not just the purchase prices, but the inflated wages too!!What a rotten bunch of so called strikers(forwards),all overseen by yes,Marina Granovskaia.
I am not a Chelsea knocker, but a lifelong fan, disappointed with the disastrous transfer policy. Thank goodness for the kids that came through, like our best player,Reece James. Hopefully, when fit,Broja will be a big asset too. |

Also you have to wonder what went on with Rudiger, eventually leaving for Real on a free!Christensen too.
We had a defence that was second to none,Rudiger Silva, Christensen,3 centre backs that were the business, probably the best in the Premier combined.Negotiations??!!Yes,when a player wants to leave it is hard to persuade them not to,but also necessary to try hard. |

No. Stop talking bollócks. Auba and Sterling were signed after Marina left. The managers, director of football, scouts and especially both owners would have had more input into player selection than she did. May as well blame the kit man for flop signings. Boehly himself was the interim director of football when they signed those two and Koulibaly, Cucurella, Fofana. Marina was an executive involved in the financial side primarily and wasn't even at the club then. Any footballing decisions she may have had input into were more than likely Roman's input.

What does Boehly know about building a 'soccer' squad?
|

By:
He's building a gridiron sized roster.

Of course Marina G didn't choose which players to sign, and she isn't to blame for these poor deals, but would she not have been able to say that certain transfers were overpriced, and bad deals.
Also players contracts running out and not being renewed is a puzzle, especially when that player is an asset to the club. Meanwhile plenty of driftwood to offload. On another note ,is it true that the medic that fell out with Jose is coming back,if so good news. |
