Spot on.
By:
ITV got the full house for pundits for this Poland-Saudi match
By:
Imagine the meltdown if a women's match was presented by 3 men and no women.
By:
mesmerised, well said. It poses the question, when do women take over the world. Not too long the way things are going.
By:
Got nowt against women commentators
just never heard a good one yet on football. |
By:
Mr Nifty- the Pink Brigade will take over the world before women do. No one is wearing armbands worldwide in favour of women.
By:
Wish the woman co commentator on bbc fa cup game, would shut up for 5 minutes.
She loves the noise of her own gob. |
By:
3 women and dreadful Seb Hutchinson. Listen to the radio and mute.
By:
Sometimes I want to mute the radio
(Alan Green ) |
By:
Agreed.
BBC match is unwatchable due the annoying female comms rarer. ITV buildup & halftime pundits are unwatchable. |
By:
And who tells them to say the stuff they say?
“It. is incredible, what a moment” after a shot goes in in the penalty box Fook me |
By:
By:
Poland v Saudi Arabia a good game.
Time to turn off though as I don’t wanna listen to the childish pundit nonsense ![]() |
By:
Totally agree about women comms - but I also can't stand some of the men either. In general I'm mostly anti-commentator full stop.
By:
People either shouting continuously or whittering endlessly while trying to actually watch the action - annoying.
I quite like Danny Murphy TBH - doesn't talk overly, and doesn't shout too much. That's about right for comms IMO. |
By:
The thing that annoys me is in the likes of darts and snooker women play the mens game and they have had little to no success v the men, bar fallons run at the worlds where the crowd where totally against the men and the odd match in snooker where a woman has won the very odd game best of 7 yet they constantly get on instead of an experienced ex pro simply because of there gender, i have nothing against women but wouldnt they be better suited to there own game
By:
Agree Bhoys, lack of expertise is very annoying too - though again, some of the male comms fall on that issue too.
By:
Yea but there simply getting the gig because of there gender even in the snooker there is tournaments set up to give them tv time recently there was 1 where they partnered each of the top male players yet none of them would beat a man in the top 32
By:
Same issue is annoying when they analyse footy - and the female player suddenly starts trying to say what the male players have done wrong...yeh, sure...

A few years back the pressing the red button gave the option of no commentary. If only the option was there today

By:
I was really impressed with Radio5 Live's Karen Bardsley today. Partly because she is American, she avoids most of the tired, hackneyed reporting that abounds (and sounds even worth when borrowed from the men's game). Good chemistry with Conor McNamara also. Don't know which side she plays for, but easy on the ear.

By:
On older tvs they have the mute button also steve
By:
Yeah but the red button allowed the stadium noise only, good idea imo.
Kelly Dalglish and Laura Woods are two good female pundits. The three that were on earlier though dreadful. |
By:
Neither of them are pundits. They are presenters/interviewers.
In Qatar it's banned. And people criticise this country? Woud love someone to stick up for Qatar and mention this but prob not a good career move. |
By:
3 foreigners' on the panel for the Belgium game.
By:
Newport v Derby FA Cup ITV1 had to turn it off just so annoying. She takes x5 to explain anything and that talking at 100mph
![]() |
By:
Becky Ives is her name. F that just awful.
By:
If ability to play is a qualification to
pontificate on football they may as well close football forums to those that didn't win league Cup winners medals at least. The irony lingers... |
By:
True but forum posts are easy enough to ignore - a screaming woman on the match less so...
By:
Women all seem to have same screaming
commentaries, they'd do well to study old time commentators. The TV stations pick the screaming wimmen and must think its what folk want. Somebody should tell them! The female pundits are usually good, and there are loads of female pundits on twitter that are excellent too. ( loads of male pundits on twitter that are also excellent) TV stick with ex pros, when there is so much better out there. |
By:
The standard of analysis today is
far superior to what it was 10 years ago. TV simply havnt picked up on it. |
By:
Listening to Klinsmann now, he's a good pundit.
By:
The world has changed boys.. I'm coming to terms with it. They want in on everything, it's just like being married..
![]() ![]() |
By:
They can want but they aren’t getting listened to
Women love the suckers it’s why they want to marry them |
By:
SUCKERS!! Now you are talking
![]() |
By:
Don't think the commentator, Pein? is that bad, meself.
By:
I don't mind any of the current bunch, particularly. When you remember how bad Jackie Oatley was, the current ones are OK. Even Vicky Sparks is quite good at conveying the atmosphere. What people can't get used to is her weird accent. I still don't have a clue which country or part of this country that she is from. This might be a deliberate affectation on her part, to try to emulate other weird accents of the past such as Motson or Tyldesley, who also sound very strange compared with normal speech.

By:
England were in complete control of the Iran game and this one. Too negative against USA. But there isn't a truly great team in this WC. England have every chance of making the final IMO
