got to be a red at some point, but maybe not in this game. Could be another 0-0 candidate here. Lewandowski didn't turn up at the last World Cup. And I'm not expecting much from him this time, tbh. One of these teams is going out, so it will be a nervy affair, i think. 0-0 or 1-1 for me.

I'm not sure that their motivation will be anything to do with embarrassment about Latin American culture at all. The Argentina result makes it more difficult for them, and Poland to qualify. It won't have any other meaning for them, imho.

Lewandowski will either get a pen or get booked, and maybe sent off, for diving. That's what his game seems to be based on nowadays. At least, when I've seen him for Barcelona.
They're not that bad, they have some pace in attack, but Mexico are the better side, so far. Lewandowski seems to resort to complaining and diving a lot these days.
Poland should be better but they don't strike me as a team. Don't seem to have the same pride playing for their country as most

could still go either way, tbf. But Mexico are the more dynamic team playing with a lot of intensity, but not renowned for their finishing. So. wouldn't surprise me if they get mugged.

Same old Mexicans, all high energy with little cutting edge, think they've been knocked out of the last 7 World Cups in the second round and looking at them here, I can see the same thing again, they can beat Poland but they're never quarter finalists. Strange for a country that is football mad and has a population of 130 million that they can't really produce any top level stars whatsoever.

I think the mexican defender did have a hold of Lewa's shirt first, then Lewa pushed him over, that's why it was given. If it had been the other way round it might not have been given.
I wouldn't call him average, mes, but he's past it now. And relies on trying to get pens and cards for opponents.
How come after 60 years of shirt tugging and grappling in the box, all of a sudden they're all pens. Italians must be massively relieved they didn't qualify, would be a record pens in one match

Yep, Argentina will have to win both games and probably will. Maybe get decent prices.
4 points could be enough but if they draw next game with Mecchio then Saudi and Mexico might be able to do a Austria Germany draw to both get through. Not sure Saudi don't do well against Poland. If the next round matches are both drawn that prospect is a reality and also just think how much money the Mexican players can make from the Saudi royal family for drawing the game!
An arm across another player seems OK but shirt pulling has always been a foul-just not always given, as that wasn't except by VAR. I give FIFA credit for ensuring that this is enforced as any defender can pull any attacker off the ball by pulling his shirt. Apart from that the officiating has been really poor. This looks like another 0-0.

But surely deliberate shirt pulling is a foul at any time? It is not hard for VAR to see and if allowed, it ruins the game imo.

I don't rate Argentina that much. I think they will get out of the group, but as soon as they go up against Brazil or one of the top European sides thy will go out.

Has much in common with Ronaldo, van Dijk, Messi and many other fading OAPs. They were top class but are on the slippery slope to retirement and fans don't want to accept it. Many stand out players so far are under 25.
TBH I didn't even rate him that highly, especially international, when he was younger.
