If the Sun are correct that they didn't specify a specific finishing order added to the fact the shop took the bet whilst no obvious palpable error which there isn't, then they ordinarily wouldn't have a leg to stand on, but as said the OAP will probably not want to incur legal fee risks.
also how can they possibly say that 4 months before the end of the season that 1-2-3-4 and 18-19-20 with said teams, was a 2/1 shot ![]() |

On the 15th January said teams were in the following positions
1. Manchester City 60 2. Liverpool FC 54 3. Chelsea FC 47 4. Manchester United 42 5. Arsenal FC 42 6. Tottenham Hotspur 42 _________ 14. Everton FC 23 15. Brentford FC 23 16. Leeds United 23 17. Burnley FC 21 18. Newcastle United 21 19. Norwich City 17 20. Watford FC 15 |

well i wont be betting with this outfit no more , it stinks

You wouldn't be backing that at 2/1
And they've phoned the bet through, which was the time to offer 2/1 Must be around 8/1*, but is 40/1 a palp, probably yes given the newspaper have fecked up the free publicity. *(As you have an acca on those three to go down, and Chelsea to finish above arsenal, totts, and man utd) The bet was advertised to s*n to get free publicity for joke orals, and they would get so much more Good publicity by simply paying out the shrewd pensioner. |

Small print... 50p or £1 max per customer. would have been apt.. imo. especially the date given.. but there must have been other punters sucked into this promotion...

By:
that's bigger than 8/1...but obviously not 200/1 or so as some of the mugs in the comments section think so - and video uploader agreeing with them
|
|
By:
Oh the 40/1 bet that should have been advertised would be around 200/1
If those 7 teams had to fill those 7 places in exact order. I think his actual bet, as placed, is about 8/1 |
|
By:
the specific ordering bet yes, re-read think that's actually what they meant, thought they meant his slip.
8/1 looks poor value. |
|
By:
old fella knew what he was doing writing "in Sun Paper" at the bottom of the slip. I don't know any other situation where you would do that
|
|
By:
I can't recall the exact circumstances, but many years ago (20+) it was (I believe) Corals who refused to pay out on a large bet, which even the other big players frowned upon. Only ever used them once since that story broke and that was for an arb that I couldn't place elsewhere. This story just adds to my contempt for them.
2/1 ![]() |

I stopped using them when their youngish mouthpiece said on air restriction imposed on recreational punters because betting is a business, and he said that on their biggest sponsored day ie Eclipse. Even the roll-out of their no 1 mouthpiece SC who'd been known to twist or deliberately be economic with truth to reassure punters did not help.

I saw that with Simon Clare 'Impossible', the bloke is a weasel.
I had dialogue with him a few years back when my mates daughter qualified as a professional golfer. He didn't bet but asked me to back her to win a major before her 30th birthday, she was 22, at whatever price I could get to win a million quid. Just for a bit of a laugh really. So I was thinking maybe 2 grand @ 500/1 or suchlike bearing in mind she had never won a tournament before as an amateur let alone as a pro. Eventually I got offered a monkey @ 66/1 by S.C. and he wanted all publicity rights should the bet cop. I told him to stick it where the sun don't shine of course. |
|
By:
I make it 5/1 at best, 5 out of the 6 selections are already up at the point the bet was struck IMO, anyway, that's beside the point.
His best argument is to point out that the advert is obviously one designed as a purposeful overpriced event designed to attract new customers, the ones usually where the max is a pound stake, probably harder for C0rals to argue against the fact that they simply allowed him to get too much on. |

vile mob betting years ago with themhad 800/200 on a dog manager only won working in shop lays the 4 s then win dog wins says price is 3 because when went to his settling his screen is 23 seconds behind other screen went to ibas with complimant found in favour of shop honest ///

could not make head nor tail of that post, can see why you're called muzzle ffs

vile mob = C0rals
betting years ago with themhad 800/200 on a dog manager only won working in shop lays the 4 s = He placed a £200 bet @ 4/1 several years ago, in a shop with only one staff member working.. then win dog wins says price is 3 because when went to his settling his screen is 23 seconds behind other screen = Bet wins but shop offers him 3/1 instead of the 4/1 taken. For some obscure reason. went to ibas with complimant found in favour of shop honest = He complains to Independent Betting Adjudication Service but they find in favour of the shop, which he assures us is the truth. No need to be rude mes.... Now if muzzle comes back at you, you'll probably start bleating to the mods again. (you just don't care who you upset) |
|
By:
The way in which anyone talks to a poster largely depend upon the calibre of the poster in question, in your case you're lucky that I talk to you at all given what a fruitcake you are, in muzzles case it was clearly banter, as for bleating to the mods again, it's interesting you make it sound like you said something mild and run-of-the-mill such as 'you mug', no, you're so incredibly thick you think that you can call somebody a n0nce and and it's fair game, and even thicker to post that transcript above
go and play in the motorway. |

Moving on...
What I can't work out is why Corals didn't just pay him; I can only assume they had a lot of winners otherwise it is better to pay and avoid bad press. That being said, if they don't pay him and choose to refund him (or better) then surely they have to repay everyone who took part. Too many unanswered questions. |
|
By:
I never called you a nonce. I said some of your pics (which it appears you've deleted) could be considered noncey, imo. Didn't even call you a mug...Keep it real'
fruitcake, incredibly thick and go and play in the motorway Very rude. |

nothing been deleted you utter moron, the only thing that was deleted was your creepy posts, do you not realise that every pic uploaded has to be approved by a moderator, it's just because you have a n0ncy mind that you would ever think up such a thing, fancy going through al 38 pages of photos, seeing some famous people when they were younger such as mertesacker in an arsenal and coming up with something like that, time for you to let your obsession with me go, it's not a good look, kind regards.

For £1000 to a company like joke orals you would think
they would have settled, but likely didn't expect it to go semi viral. As for taking prices in store I've heard a few stories of the price recorded by till monkey not standing on winning bets, with changes 20 seconds before and screens not updating being used as an excuse to chop payment. Bet online, get a price, bet in shop and you might get the price, but you only find out when you get paid out! Anybody get bigger odds?... Thought not, lol. |
