Arsenal are playing City at the weekend so doubt they'll field a strong team. WBA have other interests this season so they too will almost certainly field kids. I don't know why they don't rename this cup the U23 EPL.

Arteta seemed doomed to fail because his methods looked to be a continuation of Wenger Mark 2, possession based football, the first 45 minutes was more reminiscent of Wenger's football in the first 10 years, counter attacking football. That was only the 12th time Arteta has been at the Emirates as manager in front of a full crowd, must count. Next 5 matches all winnable, needs to keep going for the jugular to get the fans onside. It was great to watch, when you have players like Saka, Smith-Rowe and Auba, don't start passing it around the back, you can easily defend against that unless you are City with City's players and City's manager, you can't easily defend against pace and power.

That's where Wenger went wrong, changed philosophy and started recruiting a load of diminutive munchkin midfielders, years of watching a BTEC Barcelona, Kind Regards.

You can defend against pace and power if you sit back. I wouldn't call any of Arsenal's front 3 particularly powerful either, they're all lightweights. Spurs played a high line with their midfield pushed up and left themselves wide open. Most teams don't do that against Arsenal. They sit back and look to expose Arsenal's defence which isn't watertight, eg Brentford. United also struggle against teams who play like this.

Arsenal started the season as THE crisis club but you know the spuds they cant stand seeing the gooners being the 'best' at anything so they said 'hold my beer' and here we are.  Steady lads pace yourself there is way too much spursyness going on and we are running out of popcorn
