Are Arsenal elite? Of course they are. Many times League winners, many times FA Cup winners.

Whereas Spurs have won feck all since Winston Churchill was a child.

As for betting, its a friendly so only the compulsives will get involved.

I am quietly optimistic as a Spurs fan, I think you should be too ghostly gunner. Am convinced one of the so called big 4 will underachieve this season.

When did the term "elite" suddenly arrive for football teams?  To be fair though the word elite is now being used for all manner of things Sad

for hoddle and gascoigne or brady and vieira  now read xhaka and elneny vs hoojberg and winks

sad state of affairs that has allowed chelsea to flourish

the two biggest clubs in london should be ashamed of themselves imho

whether you rate lukaku or not it should be us two making those sort of statements having just won a champions league not chelsea

Totally agree ghostlygunner. I’ve been watching Spurs 50 odd years. One of the first games I attended was Arsenal winning the league at WHL on a Monday night, 71 I think. Apart from winning the odd cup, Chelsea were always a poor relation in the London club hierarchy.
Can’t see anything changing in the next few years, unfortunately, unless their owner pulls out of the club.

Tottenham fans put north London rivalries aside to welcome Arsenal's Bukayo Saka back to domestic duties for the first time since Euro 2020.

Saka's introduction into Arsenal's 1-0 pre-season defeat at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium was his first appearance since he was racially abused after missing a penalty in England's shootout defeat by Italy in the final.

With no away fans for any of the Mind Series matches, the Spurs fans gave Saka a warm ovation as he replaced skipper Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

Tottenham fans also displayed a banner which read "North London stands with Bukayo Saka and all players against racism and discrimination".

Saka almost scored as well but new Tottenham goalkeeper Pierluigi Gollini kept out the 19-year-old's low shot.

Tottenham are trying to seal a deal for Inter Milan's £60m-rated striker Lautaro Martinez.

Martinez, 23, has scored 49 goals in 132 games for Inter since joining from Argentine side Racing Club in 2018 and helped them to win Serie A last season.

He was a key figure in Argentina's Copa America triumph this summer.

Spurs took their summer spending to more than £60m on Friday when they signed Argentina defender Cristian Romero from Atalanta for £42.5m.

Winger Bryan Gil joined from Sevilla in July while Pierluigi Gollini signed on loan, also from Atalanta.

Inter are denying suggestions a fee has been agreed with Spurs for Martinez, but the Premier League club are known to be keen on the Argentine and believe they can get him.

Inter are being affected by the huge financial impact of the coronavirus pandemic on their parent company Suning.

^^^^
This, although a friendly, it encapsulated how both teams played 2nd half of last season. No encouragement yet, lets hope the new signings can change things for the better.

With no away fans, classy reaction by the Spurs fans when Saka came on.
