I was describing the episode of The Likely lads to a mate when The Toon were going to be on Match of the day as the featured game and Bob and Terry spent all afternoon in back street pubs attempting to avoid people they know and hearing the result so they could watch the game " live ".
Some of these kids cannot remember that the only live football games we got were the FA Cup Final and The World Cup! They don't remember having to get up to change the channel on the TV and losing your seat and they don't remember putting money in the leccy! When I tell young people about all that they think I am taking the pith and trying to spoof them! The National anthem after a film at the cinema

Only recently watched boxset again , I could watch it on it on a loop.
It is the wonderful Brian Glover who is trying to spoil their footy viewing.

Terry is a great actor! Now I am going to have to watch when the boat comes in.
My favourite ever episode is the ant and the grasshopper. Terry getting up late, visiting bookies, arcades, cinema, snooker halls etc while Bob grafting away. Great!
Haven't seen it for years.. but the one with the drink driving, did Terry do the urine sample for Bob... and it had a head on it?
